The casting of Alan Rickman perplexed me a bit, I never thought he'd be able to
sing (at all), same thing with a few of the other actors. How did Helena Bonham
Carter sound? I've only heard her sing once, and it was the type of song it's
pretty hard to sound bad singing. Johnny
Depp was in a band once (and I know a few people who like their music) so I
imagine he isn't too bad. I'm still pretty excited about it, even if it wasn't a
musical it still looks like my kind of movie. Tim
Burton's types of movies are exactly to my taste.

Seeing it spontaneously like that must have been pretty fun, going shopping and

She sounds good! Her last few longer notes especially. I suppose
her voice is...well I call it 'unconventionally good', they should be considered
terrible but for some reason you love to listen to them, or a voice that takes
adapting to. One of my favourites singers is like that - Jerome Pradon - his
voice is high and squeaky and just plain weird, but for some reason he's so GOOD (and famous ). No clue.
When I managed to get the only ticket left to see CATS I was in the farthest
corner in the back row, but it was great! I would have been able to see more
than some of the people in the very front, behind speakers and such. And I could
sit on the back of the seat and dance around a little 'cause there was no one

The only musical I've been able to go to was a local production of CATS, though

liked it quite a bit better than the professional production you can get on DVD.
And
there's a local production of Les Mis on soon, I might see about that one...

Because all the performers in the production of CATS I saw weren't professionals

performed every day for about...I think more than two months! Talk about loving
what you do! I think only two of them were professionals (meaning they were the
only ones that got paid ).
But it wasn't just the performers, the set was amazing! And just all the general
tweaks to it and how they chose to stage certain things was great. It's just a
shame that you're judged on your level of fame and not talent, I guess.

Wilson just made me hate him more. Some
of the singing was a bit off too, but then again, anything's better than having

it's that whole...mainstreamed sort of thing. Kids these days saying, "I
love musicals!" because they listen to like...High School Musical and crud
like that. It's just annoying when they commercialise things with bollocks like
that. I guess the movie is probably the same sort of thing. But since
I can't stand Sarah Brightman I have to listen to the movie soundtrack if I want
to listen the the Phantom of the Opera.
Same, when I listened to the Woman in White I had no idea what was going on. But the
songs were pretty and I read the book and such after I listened to it.
I've never like Michael Crawford's voice all that much but since he was singing
with an accent in the Woman in White he was really good. He often sings the
Phantom of the Opera quite well also, but he always sounds completely different
in the rest of his songs.
I've read a lot about Evita but I've only ever listened to a few songs, I must
get 'round to finding it after school finishes for the year. I love
'Oh! What a Circus'.

had a good Christmas and New Years!
Seeing it spontaneously like that must have been pretty fun, going shopping and ending up seeing it for such a good price! That would have made it all the more enjoyable, I'd imagine. (The price especially, I know when I went to the opera and the ticket was $114 it was quite painful.

I suppose
her voice is...well I call it 'unconventionally good', they should be considered
terrible but for some reason you love to listen to them, or a voice that takes
adapting to. One of my favourites singers is like that - Jerome Pradon - his
voice is high and squeaky and just plain weird, but for some reason he's so GOOD (and famous
). No clue.

She sounds good! Her last few longer notes especially.
When I managed to get the only ticket left to see CATS I was in the farthest corner in the back row, but it was great! I would have been able to see more than some of the people in the very front, behind speakers and such. And I could sit on the back of the seat and dance around a little 'cause there was no one around me.
best wishes for you
Hi!
Sure, I understand your point and I'm so sorry to have uploaded bad scans. Thank you to haven't banned me!^^
I've a question totally out of this: before then my upload ability was locked I had problems to edit the images that I had posted! May I ask you it that's normal or maybe there was something wrong in my account?o.o?
Hiya Marissa! I just wanted to stop by and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hi hi!
Just dropped by to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year =)
Have you ever seen any big names live?
The only musical I've been able to go to was a local production of CATS, though labelling it local seems degrading to me because it was absolutely brilliant! I liked it quite a bit better than the professional production you can get on DVD.
And
there's a local production of Les Mis on soon, I might see about that one...
Ummm...oh yes! I believe I read about that on wikipedia, I think it was a complete flop.

That sounds like a 'large stage' to me! I meant kind of...well known, or something to that effect.
So, the
actual Las Vegas staging?
Wow...
Because all the performers in the production of CATS I saw weren't professionals they didn't even get paid. And they performed every day for about...I think more than two months! Talk about loving what you do! I think only two of them were professionals (meaning they were the only ones that got paid
).
But it wasn't just the performers, the set was amazing! And just all the general
tweaks to it and how they chose to stage certain things was great. It's just a
shame that you're judged on your level of fame and not talent, I guess.

It still counts for something.
But yeah,
just because it's in a big-named place it's not guaranteed to be good, just like
if it's a regional show it's not necessarily going to be any less!
Awesome!
I like his voice, I was at a function/gathering-thing and they were playing
his Christmas album, it was really pretty.
I guess
it's good to become a fan of someone before they become really famous (it would
be much easier!) so I guess that's why people dislike it when artists or music
become really mainstreamed, when they were fans before the rest of the world
was!

And I'm guessing they're more expensive too?
Ah well, at least you're in the right country!
Hardly
anyone comes to New Zealand, and if they do it's usually the opposite end of the
country to where I live.
Matchbox
20 are coming soon but they're only going to Auckland, which is the main city
concerts come too - and it's not even the capital city so I have no idea why.
I was just browsing your gallery and I noticed you have a wallpaper of Kisara...do you still like Yu-Gi-Oh (or use to)? I'm collecting the manga at the moment.

I've never understood how everyone seems to have the time to cause all the tickets to be sold out after only a couple of hours, especially when they usually go on sale at some ridiculous time.
Is this going by the original manga or the crappy 4Kids dub of the anime?
Yeah,
Kisara's story is really sad.
lol Kujaku Mai. (Mai Valentine, thanks to 4Kids.
) She is
pretty funny.

Scalpers! That's illegal, right? You'd think they'd put a limit on how many tickets you can buy. I mean, if someone's buying a hundred tickets, they're obviously a scalper. Or if they have an excuse they're for a business function or something they should have to prove it.
I have yet to read the manga (where Kisara is actually there) past the part that you vectored that image of her from, or see the final arc in Japanese - so I don't know how much of her and Seto's relationship was censored. And I imagine that would have reduced her to a plot device.
just point at least one fascist word i wrote before telling me such things
i dont care about what you say actually because im not going to be a mod here, i dont want to have ur reputation of a person that everybody hates and i dont want people to create threads about me where they say how mush they hate me ^^
u say u dont care, but i know it does hurt you ^.^
btw, ban me if u want, + one person in this world that hates you ^^ oh yeah, u dont care...
u know, every thought has its form but u just cant see it so i wont be surprised if ur sick or smth because there are so many people that hate you *.*

that's right
so how about banning me
I have wanted that CD for soooooooo long!
It has an
extended version of Beggars At the Feast that I really want to hear.
Judy Kuhn, Ruthie Hensahll, Lea Salonga, and Michael Maguire - I find them all to be varying degrees of AWFUL. Especially Lea Salonga and Judy Kuhn.
Though I
do like Michael Ball, Colm Wilkinson, and Philip Quast.
XD I love his voice so much, I just find it to be ridiculously amazing.
And
he makes such a cute Marius!

LOL I noticed that.

XD Yeeeeeeeah...I would've said that but I didn't think it was fair. But since she can't sing either, sure, why not?
Her teeth
are FREAKY.
XD He doesn't get to display his intelligence in the musical, in the book he's just too cool with his lawyer-smartness.
But he does
have a lack of common sense, kind of like a 3 year-old.
Yeah, Colm Wilkinson was one of those singers I listened to, said, "Ugh" but then eventually came to like. If that made any sense, I guess I mean that his voice grows on you.
All the people who play Javert sound the same!
Well, at
least Philip Quast and Terrence Mann did.
I didn't
realise I was listening to someone else until someone told me.

I wish I could see Broadway at all.
Though I
think I'd prefer to go to the West End...though it's a long time 'til either of
those things ever happen.
What's it like?
I
mean, pretty much any large stage. X_X
I know what you mean, and he seemed to have more emotion in his voice than Philip Quast, as he seemed kind of...unchanging (I'm not sure what word to use.
),
though I've only ever heard Terrence Mann as the Rum Tum Tugger other than
Javert.
Seeing the guy who was Javert as the Rum Tum Tugger was totally weird.
I was like
"Ummm...okay. Didn't see that coming."
Total
personality swap!
Lol. ^_^
So nostalgic, I was lucky enough to be cast in Les Miserables when I was younger, still ranks as one of the greatest experiences of my life. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories.
But poor Yuuko, a 'Lovely Lady'?

Wish I could say 'Cosette' but I was just the understudy for her [I was lucky I even got that - I was so nervous at the auditions...
] I played
little Eponine and a beggar girl in crowd scenes.
Man, you've got me grinning like an idiot, sitting here thinking back on everything now...
And you really know the songs well, don't you? There's some pretty obscure lines in there. I didn't catch on till the 'Storms we cannot weather' x "Life has killed the Dream I Dreamed' combo. ^_^
Sorry to bother but i have a problem with a deletion of some of my scans,
i know
that is the same old story but i was wondering why my scan was removed from
another mod with scans (made by her)from a worse source (mines was from
Shitajiki, hers from Dark Horse comic cover with all the wrong stuff over it
) i
hope to read something about that
Hi Marissa, thanx for highlighting my two One Piece scans
I want to go so badly!
But
there's no way I can afford it. And, I love the Phantom of the Opera, but I
don't know if I would want to see it live.
Like, I can't stand All I Ask of You, because I hate the fact that Christine
actually tolerates Raoul let alone loves him.
It takes something special for me to listen to that song.
What I was
trying to say was, that I don't really listen to the whole thing. I liked the
movie becase it had dialogue and the key songs, but I find that when it is
entirely sung it's pretty boring.
Other musicals like Aspects of Love, Les Mis, and Jesus Christ Superstar pulled
off the no talking really well, but Phantom just seemed kind
of...nygeh.
I know! You can never get a fully awesome cast in one go. I mean, the 'Dream Cast' of Les Mis was the WORST cast they ever had! Who in their right mind thinks Lea Salonga can sing?
I know she
has a legion of fans, but that is something I will never understand.
I have been a member here for quite a long time, but I didn't know much about it. Can you help me? I don't know where to PM, so I decided to type here. Please help me. Thanks!
Hey! I just happened to notice that all the titles for your recent CLAMP scans are quotes/song names from Les Miserables. Just thought that was pretty cool - they do share some aspects, when you think about it.

LOL Yeah!
The others
are, broader (?).
CATS is probably an acquired taste...or something like that.
Les Mis is the second musical I ever got hooked on, because the tunes are so beautiful!
I'll add you.
(BTW Your collection of GB posts are hilarious.
)

I guess they're not as emotional or deep (they're happy
) as songs
from Les Mis or Phantom of the Opera, though Memory is - so that's probably why.
Uh...Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Woman in White, Westside Story. I'm in the process of listening to Fiddler on the Roof and I've also listened to Chess but I didn't like it that much.
Mostly Andrew Lloyd Webber stuff, I haven't listened to many of the old
'classics' or whatever, mainly because the CDs are expensive here so I have to
try and find them at the library.
) like the
Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride.
I also like musical movies (kids stuff
What about you?
merged: 11-27-2007 ~ 11:53am
I thought that! Being use to listening to them as father and daughter in Les Mis and then listening to them as Erik and Christine would be kind of weird.
I'll
see if I can find it.
I know! She has such a beautiful voice and she hardly gets to sing at all! I mean, what's with Eponine having more songs than Cosette?
But 'A
Heart Full of Love' with her and Michael Ball in the Original London Cast...
I
love Michael Ball's singing.
Especially as Marius. <3
I know what you mean.
I overall
liked the movie, though I hate Raoul with a passion so I can't fully enjoy it.
Patrick
Wilson just made me hate him more. Some
of the singing was a bit off too, but then again, anything's better than having
to listen to Sarah Brightman! Yeck! I just don't get how people actually want to listen to her!
But yeah,
it's that whole...mainstreamed sort of thing.
I love
'Oh! What a Circus'.

I've never like Michael Crawford's voice all that much but since he was singing with an accent in the Woman in White he was really good. He often sings the Phantom of the Opera quite well also, but he always sounds completely different in the rest of his songs.
I've read a lot about Evita but I've only ever listened to a few songs, I must get 'round to finding it after school finishes for the year.
Oh! And I really want to listen to Wicked! I looks really good!
Seeya!
Hi Marissa,
thanks for restoring my "Elwing" scan. I didn't know the other one that was uploaded was stolen but I'm happy that I have one of my fav scans back ^__^
Have a nice day
Cheza
Im sorry if i have mispelled your name. I would like to ask why did my credits wnet down to a -10.63?
Yoo! sorry for my post in the deletion complaints forum xD!...
see ya ladie ^^
Oh dear I've seemed to have made our snakey-poo mad *says in mocking tone while laughing hysterically*
I think I'm having too much fun with this. Seriously I wish he'd kept it up with you. I think I'd die of laughter from his responses.
