About your thread 'Separation of Church and State', I'm happy to read the discussion was healthy. I like the theme very much, but I think twice when entering in a thread about religion and things related when I find fanatic people discussing. You know, things become sick really fast. It wasn't the case. Congratulations, Mnemeth. Wish to be in more your threads.

I see that you also understand that historically when religion has become involved in politics that things go downhill very quickly.

sure no problem, and thanks for agreeing with me too...apparently, from that thread alone, not everyone agrees....tis sad guess some haven't made it to history class yet ^_^

r q g

whoah! u're an engineer... nice to meet u, n nice that my input was not a negative point, becuz i'm not a religious person, but the reality of that thing is so touchable as the air u need for breathing.

I'm finishing my studies in Industrial Engineer. i hope to graduate in october.

what's the area u're working?

please to meet u, once again :)

have a great day.

Its always good to get different views on these types of issues

Try researching the Philippine history if you want to know anything more about the topic(You'll know how the country is run if the two are combined)

Dear Mnmeth,

I might have ignored the topic and focused on:

Quote by Mnemeth
...As for me, my response will always be, WHAT! ARE YOU NUTS? Politics should have nothing to do with religion other than to maintain the separation between the church and state.

So that's actually the reason why I took on the empirical aspect of religion and politics existing within the same sphere of influence in the world and the possible collision between the two with regards to worldly affairs.

As for imperialistic religions? Well, imperial powers will eventually want to destroy the other, so when the next crusades break out, you can be sure foreign policy will have hell to pay when it comes to negotiations after that.

Wistfully,
Sulibres

Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you and your family. And try not to burn too many humans to a crisp, it's Christmas after all XD...maybe you could just, ummm...send them away or something, when they trespass your territory, who knows, maybe you might get a gift or two for that lol :D...

Take care, fly safely and keep the fires cool. Happy holidays.

Quote by Mortiferatrinidad156Sushi would be at the top of my list, and Pizza, I guess. For deserts, Kydonia sto Fourno( Greek ) or Scandinavian rice puddings ( mouth waters...).

Thanks for contributin to my thread. What is this Kydonia sto Fourno? Don't think I have heard of it.

Hello there, sorry for the very late reply, been away from MT, schoolwork and stuff. :)

Kydonia sto fourno is a dessert with quince as a main ingredient, it's either baked( in this case ), preserved with spices or sweetened. It's not very popular here in Spain but readily available in restaurants catering to tourists or culinary journeymen like my family ( except my brother, who had a rough first meeting with wasabe and now is traumatized by the idea of trying out foreign cuisine :D). It's become one of my favourite desserts lately. As of now, I'm starting to get addicted to Thai food, much to my ma's horror, lol! X-P

Oh, and can I add you to my friendlist? Thanks and I'll keep in touch. :)

Quote by Toya999hhrrrmmm...it's fairly odd how u'r sayin it has zero power over our psyche, anyways as to that i'll simply advice you to go do some research then come speak, because it's wrong to pass on wrong info.

I don't need to do any research to realize that the TV is a machine, an object with no will of its own. Therefore it cannot influence anyone or anything unless it is picked up and thrown at someone or something. The material shown on a TV (the programming) has the ability to influence and isolate people, but as I will state again in a different way, the TV itself is merely a tool

What you seem to be talking about is actually addiction to television programming (the material on the TV) causing isolation. This has and is happening because people are too lazy or scared to get a life. As far as the influence of the programming well it is greater than other material because it is easily and quickly delivered. Its convenience, easy access to information and entertainment, is the biggest problem yet is the biggest asset to the public. We have almost instant access to what we want to know or choose to watch. As for those individuals that choose to make this their entire world, I would suspect that many of them already suffered from other addictions as well.

I couldn't agreed with our fellow post here.

Well Said !

Certainly, that was what i was trying to make my point. Er...you need ketchup ? ;)

How are you doing ? ^_^"

It has been a long time last since we had a good conversation over in MT. Typically in the Thread " Throw something" ;)

Quote by MnemethThanks for participating in my continuation of the Religions Talk thread. Nice question on how we view God. It seems to have generated some debate.

You're welcome :)
I've always wondered about it.

Why thank you for dropping by and the greetings and welcome back. Everything is going good and I wish the same for you. I wish you had a better vacation since it sounds like you did not enjoy it as much as one should enjoy a vacation.

things are pretty good here not ^^
and yea, my vacation was not too pleasant, though there were good times..cuz we had a puppy...sadly though a part of me regretted it since giving him away at the last day...just before we came back...broke my heart...
aww thinking about the lil whirlwind is making me rather sad... was so adorable and i love him so much.. slept beside him the last night, savor my last moments with him before having to let him go the next morning... don't think i'll ever get over it T_T

heheh but anyway ^^"
things are ok on this end thanks for your wishes ^^

hope to hear from you soon,
take care and have a nice time ^^

Dear Mnemeth,

Thank you for replying to my thread, though I must admit I did not expect any more replies once it was more than two weeks old. Though what you said does make sense in some way, I have to admit that the reason those ancients are remembered is because they were born far more capable than any of us have any right to be.

They represent an elite within society. In metaphorical terms they were crafted in Gold and Silver being the most precious metals and fit for greatness in their rarity where as the rest of the masses were crafted in brass and iron. Not all men are born equal. There was something which made them demi gods amongst men, something that provided them with near limitless ambition, driving force, wealth and intelligence. I have always wanted to understand what made them what they were today: Was it divine intervention? Something in their genius? Or even the perfect timing? I will never know.

Thanks for listening to my rambling,

Sulibres

Quote by MnemethActually I'd challenge yourself and write a multi-timeline manga incorporating all three. This has worked really well when reincarnation is utilized to continue the characters (provided its done right)

That's a great idea. It doesn't quite fit with my ideas, but I would love to try writing something like that. Thanks for responding.

Quote by MnemethI agree that Hawaiian Breeze is good but I prefer Apple Cinnamon and Fresh Pine.
Clean Linen is also a very comforting smell.
For invigorating smells I use the citrus odors

mmm.. apple cinnamon.. well, thanks for replying to the old thread of mine..
