Quote by TrigunPreacherGirlInteresting. Personally, I rather enjoyed reading this, as you illustrated the differences and other aspects of the manga versus the anime. It may be a good idea to look it over for reiterations of the same phrase ("dare I say" springs to mind), and adding the actual names to the list of characters could do a bit of good. For example: "Chiyo Mihama, the child prodigy...", etc. For edification, it's "hit OR miss", not hit and miss". Also, I like the fact that you put information on the dialogue, sound effects/translation notes in the Sound category, instead of "This is a manga, not an anime, therefore, there is no sound!" Having once seen that in a review, I am most thankful for yours. All in all, great work! :)
Take care,
~"TreaGirl".

Thank you for your constructive criticism. I really appreciated the fact you read my review closely and you raise some good points. Regarding the names of the students, I deliberately left them out because I was pointing out the "generic" or cliched characteristics of the students rather than drawing attention to them directly. If someone was going to read the manga upon the basis of my recommendation they would easily be able to draw their own conclusions without me actually telling them who is who. I used "hit and miss" deliberately and I accept your point that it is grammatically incorrect. In this case, I am suggesting that one scene may "hit" my humourous side but, by the same token, that same scene may "miss" another person's sense of humour. Alternatively, I may find the scene funny in one reading but may find the same scene not funny in a subsequent reading (depending on the circumstances).

Thank you so much for your comment!

Quote by TrigunPreacherGirlNicely done! Thank you very much for sharing (it reminds me of two of my friends who are big fans of either character). You may want to give it a different background, as pale colors seem to wash out their faces. All in all, great work!
Take care,

Spoiler:

awwwww, damned skin's colors XD I always spend a lot of time to decide them, and I always take pale colors XD

That is just what I thought ^^ You really should finish reading the series - it's sooo great. Dee and Ryo are such a cute couple!

And, by the way, thanks a lot for the fav. Really appreciate it.

wow, your userpage looks a bit disastrous. I had the same problem once. You should report this to a mod to fix it ;)

Quote by TrigunPreacherGirlVery nicely done; I love the visual metaphor shown by the juxtoposition of the words and the newly-sprouted plant. I also like the choice of colors-it reminds me of a kitchen counter and wall. Great work, all in all!

Thanks for your favourite and comments~ I am glad you like it. Even for me, I like the colors as well. :)

Happy day~! :D

Quote by TrigunPreacherGirlOne of the aspects I like about this would be the way the eye is colored; it's such a pleasant shade of blue. Additionally, nice work on the hand, though the thumb probably could be a bit larger. I also think that it's a bit difficult to tell what ended where, such as the neck and hair. The pose is, in my opinion, rather neat; the way her jaw is drawn, it looks as if she's tilting her head to the right, away from the veiwer. Nicely done, all in all :).
Take care,
~"TreaGirl".

Thanks for the comment ^^
yeah about the line ended where, actually me also have problem on it *since i sketched it and then vectore and followed all the line and messed it up =_="
but thanks for the compliment though ;3
Ja ne~!

Quote by TrigunPreacherGirlVery nice, and I really like the shading around the creases in the background (speaking of which, no, the clouds do not look bad; they're much better than what I could do!). The title sounds neat, even though it is a bit of off French (missing the "z" at the end of "pensez"-however, French is quite a difficult language, believe me *glances nervously at the awaiting homework for said class*. Then again, technically, you did say it didn't mean anything). "Think of Me", sounds quite romantic. All in all, beautifully well done!

thank you ^^
im glad u liked the clouds because theyre seriously a complete mess comparing to what any good photoshop-user can do -_-
oh and it means [tu] pense a moi
french is not difficult, believe me :)
im the best in french in my country, i won a national competition a year ago and i even won a meeting with the president as one of the most talented children in my country ^^
though the meeting was cancelled because of the -40'C cold XD
and i think ill win the competition this year too >:D (in 2 months)
i must agree its romantic >:D
anyways, thank you ^^

Hey, there, Haohmaru77!
Well, great minds do think alike, eh? ;) No, I haven't read "Ares", though it does sound familiar... I've been thinking about doing a review for a manga titled "Suki, Dakara Suki", a.k.a., "Suki". I just haven't had the time for almost anything outside of school (online on borrowed time, occasionally). Honestly, a lot of the play performances have blurred together (six of them in all), but it went rather well (the set suffered some minor damage in the form of some of the paper-mache half of a plateau-like tree's stump getting torn when an actor stepped a bit too close, as well as a hook's clip for when the facade of a room wall goes up got torn out, which was one of the things I was in charge of, but it was a small, unimportant thing).
The director used a lot of bright paint, intending to "assault all senses"; there was a really beautiful song that was performed by the director's friend (recorded, not live) during the middle of the play, right before intermission (it'll be stuck in my head for a while, hah hah).
Ah, speaking of music, I must share some songs I've found, both composed by Yoko Kanno, but performed by other people: "Strangers", off of the Wolf's Rain CD, sang by a man named Raj Ramayya (who sounds a lot like James Blunt o_0 ; and "Sora", from Escaflowne, sang by Maaya Sakamoto. Oh, and "Twilight", by the British band "Boa" is a must listen to!
Oooh, parlez-vous Francais? C'est tres cool! Vous aimez la langue, non? Tres beau! How I wish I knew how to get the accent marks with the keyboard... ^_^' .
Yes, there isn't anyplace quite like home *said as she clicks her ruby shoes a few times*.
Currently, I'm taking a theatre class (I think I mentioned this; I'm not sure), and we're doing a scene from Sophocles' play "Antigone". I'm working with a classmate on the scene between Kreon and the title character (I'm Antigone, he's Kreon) when Antigone's arrested and having a verbal power struggle with him. Almost all of my lines are safely tucked away in my head, ready to be spoken.
It was great hearing from you, Haohmaru77, and I wish you the best!
Take care,
~"TreaGirl".

Hiya nee-chan! Sorry for not replying for a while, i've been working on this comic and it stole all my time! But I'm almost finished and I'm on holiday until monday so I can work on it for a while and finish it :)

I want to read this review of yours! I haven't read much manga recently, mostly because I'm working on mine, but also because I lost a bit of interest in it, but hopefully your reviews will lead me to some manga that will light that passion again :D plus they say I'm a good text editor because of my mother so maybe I can help you ^_^

Wow, all these things about the play, sounds like it was complicated but it came along well in the end ^_^ nice one! And good luck with this Antigone one :)

I've heard this "Strangers" song from Wolf's Rain but isn't it sung by a girl? Well that's the version I've heard, "we had a kind of paradise..." it's a beautiful song indeed :D reminds me of London :'(

Oui, je parle un peu de français, j'adore les langues mais je préfère le français, c'est très beaux!

Quote by Nee-chanVery nicely done! I really like how he looks so at ease, and is regarding the audience with such a politely amused expression. Great work, all in all!
Take care,
~"TreaGirl".

Thanks, girl! Thanks a lot, honest! And thanks for putting it in your favorites! :D

Best wishes!

This Monday, I performed the Antigone scene (I don't think I'll ever get used to being onstage! XD ). The idea of a review is still just that: an idea. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to a lot of the writing I put on the Internet, and I want to write right... er, "correctly", I should say, ha ha.
Interesting that you heard a version of the song by a woman; I wonder what her name is... hmm.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byhcdd6_eKk This is the version I'm talking about (shrugs).
Oh, and don't worry about not replying on time (I mean, look at how long it took me to respond!), I totally understand. It's good that something creative can get you so engrossed in it, and comics are a neat medium. Bon chance! What does being a text editor entail, I wonder...? Thank you for such kind words, and you're welcome in regard to your beautiful work of art!
Take care,
~"TreaGirl".

Yo nee-chan! Hmm I hope that scene went ok! I'm thinking about joining the theatre club when I enter uni, if there's still one. ^_^ Be an actor like you! :D

Hmm, write correctly? well the only way you can achieve that is by practising, however, if you really want to improve, other people's criticism might help as well ^_^

Well I heard that version of the song, I'm sure that voice is a woman's O_o! Still, it's a very beautiful song, and I really loved when they played it in the anime, and you saw the wolves run through the snow and the railway next to them... dreamlike, if you ask me. ^_^

And yea, I'm working hard on this comic... I'm really happy because it's about my country, few people know about it and even fewer know that it's a really, REALLY special one :D so I buzz, as we'd say in England.

If you ever come up with a comics storyline, lemme know-- I might be interested in working with someone in a comic, and someone as trustworthy as you would be perfect :)

Thanks for the fav and the comments :)

Quote by Nee-chanHey, there! :D
"Chronicles of the Cursed Sword" is a Korean manga (manhwa) written by Beop-Ryong Yuy, and illustrated by Hui-Jin Park. Taking place during the warring states era, the story follows Rey Yan and his travelling companion, sorceress Shyao Lin, who know each other when they were taught by the same teacher in combat and magic. Rey weilds the PaSa sword, "a living sword that hungers for demon blood. It grants the user incredible power... but takes over the user's body, and with time, their soul" (paraphrased from the second book's cast chart). Currently, they're accompanying the king of Hahyun, Jaryoon, who is traveling to the capital to find out why his brother, the emperor, is trying to kill him.
Wow, I felt like I just wrote a thesis for an essay... (laughs). Though, I'm missing the outline for the paragraphs to come (don't worry, I'll quiet down soon enough).
The play's going rather well (we have about four more performances, then we're done).
I'm glad to hear your comic is going well, and I eagerly await your return :). How was/is your time in Britain? I'm hoping everything's going well.
Take care,
~"TreaGirl".

Hiya, nee-chan! Really sorry about the late reply ^^U

Wow, I read about "Chronicles of the Cursed Sword" and it's very, VERY simmilar to my comic indeed! (or to what I planned for it at least ^^U) That's not so good you know :( oh well ^_^ have you read "Ares"? It's also very simmilar to my comic, for the graphic part at least xD

That was a freakin' kick-ass review for a manga, if you ask me ^^ you should totally do some more! :D I'd love to read shonen manga reviews... specially for good-yet-unknown manga :D

Alright, I want to hear how everything regarding that play went :D

Hmmmm, Britain was just beautiful, I totally miss it-- but at least I'm happy now as well ^^ there's no place like home, or so they say you know :) Still. it's pretty cool to live here and I'm learning french now!

What's new over there? How's life at nee-chan's?

Hope to hear from you soon ^^

Quote by TrigunPreacherGirlIncredibly cool, and I'd love to read this character's story when you finish it. His hair style and color reminded me of Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach, but I like the fact that he's his own self, and doesn't seem to really be derived from an already existing character. The shadows on his face give off an impression of face paint (no pun intended), and I especially like the way the shadows roll off of him. Great work, all in all!

Woahs! you read it?!?
I'm happy you like Fen so much. ^_^
ah, ah... damn, now I have to work on the story. XD
