You're crazy to vector all those details >__< ... esp those scales (the
edges of each scale look darker than their middle, did you use a pattern/texture
or something?). and for the shading, did you use a brush?
I wish the vectoring ape would exist, I'd get one immediatley.
About the scales, I used gradient on them my GIMP allows me to use gradient that
ajusts to my selected shape because I had lots of different scale shaped
selections I could use it like that (I just found that out recently to tell the
truth ). Some shadows on his clothing were drawn and smuged with brushes,
also pretty much everything except their skin is textured or patterned in one
way or the other (I'm a pattern whore).
