On an easy wallpaper you can even use 2-3 layers if you don't want blending
effects and other. On the manga scans (black/white, I suppose, but it works the
same for colored) you can duplicate the layer with the scan and set the top one
to blending option, Overlay. This will erase a lot of major defects, but you can
modify its opacity if it is too bright. As for the smooth effect, use the smudge
tool. Set it to a very small value like 2 or 3 and gently stroke the scan until
you reach the wanted smoothness. But don't overdo it, or it will look too
blurry. As for the colors you can modify them by using the Saturation,
Brightness or the Curves. Always work with the wallpaper at 100% zoom, or you'll
miss important details and it will look bad in full-view. When you close the
window you must save the wallpaper at maximum quality (12), it's a pop up window
at the exit, you'll arrange it from there.

was a voice major in college I did the soprano part. Some of Barber's vocal
pieces are just achingly beautiful.
