As for the family photo, it looks a bit odd with the thick black outlines in some places and no outlines in other places. I'd say go with one or the other (ie outlined or outlineless), but not both =\ . Also, it kinda looks like it's just floating on the wall as opposed to hanging there. The shadow shouldn't be that far out (because then it looks like the photo is really far from the wall, and is suspended there). The window frame is nicely done, and the flowers are pretty, but it looks a bit odd with the vectored sharp frame against a softly coloured background =\ ... also, I think the text looks out of place and unnecessary (esp with that font style)...

a reference picture? nop I was thinking in making those things you put in the baby`s bed and they move in circles so the baby can look at them (sorry my english is bad and I dont know how are those called)... and the toys I wanted to use were haros but I could find a reference picture I could vector from... then I had this idea, much simpler one it was like hell looking for the scan of that hand, took me days!

you think so? the pic was too small so I couldnt clearly see the outlines, that`s why I vectored that way... sorry it looks odd... the shadow? some pictures are like that O.o that combination of vectored window and a soft colored background was to create the impression there was a blue cristal there...

Believe it or not, I actually used your lazy technique for the vector, since I really wanted to try it long ago. So, yeah, fill paths. But I'm not sure the outcome is so thin like you mentioned.
