Quote by MapleRoseThanks for the suggestions. I've made the borders smaller and changed it so that they line up (I've tried connecting them but that looked really weird ^_^'), does it look better now?

Yep, much better :]

Quote by Cloverits a great idea^^ and i like the vector you used there.
But i think swordfish is right in one way. Maybe you should let the squares connect^^
like in your flower rainbow. for me it is a fav, couse i like the idea behind it^^

Thanks for the fave! and thanks for the suggestion. I've changed it so that they line up ('cause I can't think of any other composition, any ideas? ^_^') (I've tried connecting them, but it looks a bit restrictive =\ ) does it look better now?

hi there,
i think it looks much better now^^
For the composition i can't tell you right now, couse i have to go to work.
I will looks later on it again^^ maybe i can tell you more when i return.

Quote by MapleRosehey, how come your icon/avatar thing's still weird-looking? Weren't you gonna fix it?

lol... I'm so lazy. xD I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Quote by MapleRoseThat's just hte thing, I'm drawing a blank when I stare at it... dunno what kind of a theme to use ^_^' I guess I just thought it was a cool design, and wanted on my desktop, but dunno what concept to draw from it =S any suggestions?

Yeah hmm... something with "wind" maybe?

Quote by MapleRoseooh nice painting. I like the pose of the girl too, though I think her eyes are a bit too wide (which makes her looks quite shocked instead of relaxed as her pose and surroundings would suggest). nice background, I like the rainbow ^^

Yeah, you're right, she looks shocked. I narrowed her eyes a bit, I hope that it looks better now. Next time I'll pay more attention to the expression :)

r q g

I definately know this was placed in the wrong catergory. :o

This wallpaper is definately suppost to be in the catergory ofSanctuary Knocker.

Quote by MapleRosepwetty... I like the concept, esp the black hand covering the eyes of the person in the background there ^^ Interesting way of doing the clothing patterns too...

I dunno why the shirt of the guy in front just ends abruptly in the lower right corner there =\ esp with the sharp corner like that. Wouldn't it fit the rest of the pic more if it was replaced by the circles?

That's just the way his shirt ends. I didn't want to overlap any circles on the shirt since the black circles are almost like his pants, and the shirt should go on top of the pants XD Eh, It's sort of hard to explain, but I do get a what you're saying. Thanks for your comments and critique!

r q g

thanks for the help!

Quote by MapleRosecute drawing, I like the character design. Nice shading as well ^^

thank you~! ^^

r q g

since your well adjusted with PSP, and I'm still learning. Would you happen to know how to make the pinwheel effect, and do you know how to make curvy text?

merged: 09-12-2007 ~ 08:17am
thanks..you explained perfectly..I use PSP X, but I still understand the other version, and thank you agian for your help

r q g

lol! I'm so sorry, but this is so hilarious when I saw your little front banner. XD

I mean where's the angel side of you besides the devil? >:D

Quote by MapleRosenice effects, I like the soft glowy bits, very pretty. But like gaara said, it looks a bit random... and I think you over-used the leaf brush in the corner there...

Lol, and I thought the glow-like bits were the one people would despise! :D
Yeah, you're right, I overused the leaf brush- I wanted to make the figure stand out, but it seems like... major biggie failure.

Quote by MapleRosenice job vectoring and extending the scan :) However, the perspective of the roof looks really.. odd. But that's a hard angle to work with, so points to you for trying. The railing should be smaller as it goes farther, so instead of the lines being parallel, they should converge slowly. Also, I think you need some shading on where the door and the floor meet, to give a sense that the floor is underneath. For the shingles, the slope looks too sharp, it should be more gradual. And the highlighting, instead of using a square bit of light in the middle, try using a line going down the length of the shingle kinda offcenter (like how it is in the scan), to give it a raised and curved feeling.

lol! Mna, I know what you're meaning. I guess I couldn't find the perfect perspective which I did noticed that too. x_x Though on my next wallpaper I'm trying to see if I could add my own touch like you mentoned. :3

Oh, I tihnk I did add shading for the floor and the door it's just the shading is too light because I put it ino 25%. ^_^' I'll try to correct those errors next time when I use a perspective. ;)

Quote by MapleRosewow, pretty painting. I love how you did the clouds (clouds are hard to paint >__< ). Did you use any reference pictures?

Thank you for your comment. =D And nope, I didn't use any reference pics, just Photoshop and the default brushes. It was hard and difficult, yes, but it's okay if you have a tablet. :3

Quote by MapleRosenice vectoring job, it's smooth and clean. The only thing I would suggest is that Tamaki's skin is a bit too pale; he's wearing a white thing, and since you're not using outlines, his chin and the white cloth kinda melt together...

keep vectoring ^^ would you like to join vectory?

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/demon_kourai/tyimage.png

now that you mantion it, yeah, they do seem to be melting together XD. i had a bit of a poblem choosing the skin color cuz it was darker on his right side of the face and lighter on his left side so i kinda chose somewhere in between the two.

as for the group: sorry, won't be joinin' it for now. maybe sometime in the future when i'll vector more and have more confidence in my skills. what i'm doing seems like child's play compared to what i saw on the group's page.

+ thanks for the tutorials on your page. they really help. *hugs*

Quote by MapleRoseI suppose the design looks nice, and it looks a bit like stained-glass. But I think you over-used the filters, that we can't really tell all the details... =\

ORZage
Yup. Filter-over dosage and was too late when I just realized.. <---- Was just too lazy to re-do the whole thing. *ish slapped*

Thanks for the comment though. =3

Quote by MapleRosewoah it's so... pink! I'd imagine you with something... green XD

icons? what icons?

I remember there was once a tutorial on how to make semi-transparent boxes, but I can't find that thread anymore... but if I remember correctly, it involves taking a screenshot of your page, then place white box set at "screen" layer mode on top of where these boxes would appear, and reupload your skin.

an easier way would be using css in your custom userpage content thing. add

Quote: div.inner {
opacity: X !important;
}

where the X is a number <= 1, sort of like a percentage where 1 is 100%. This number determines how opaque your boxes will be, the higher the number, the more opaque. I set mine at 0.82.

However, this only works in Firefox, not in IE. Also, since the css is on your userpage only, it will only work on your userpage. So when you browse around in other places of MT, it will go back to being 100% opaque.

Thank you! ^_^
Oh, so you put css codes in the custom userpage content thing. haha, I couldn't figure it out. lol. I'll use the css one. it's easier. hehe. And I never use IE anymore anyway, unless I'm in school. (and most of the time I'm using the macs so it doesn't matter anyway. xD)

Yeah, I didn't plan on it being pink. It just came out that way. xD
I always thought it would be green or brown. xDDD

icons as in the user icon next to the username on forum and guestbook posts. =P
That's why it looks like an explosion right now. (maybe you need to clear cache or refresh to see it?)

Quote by MapleRosew00t! nice new layout! lol, the last one was so light and bright and fun, and this one is dark and elegant ^^ Will the button change too?

merged: 08-31-2007 ~ 09:13am
oh btw, when I view it in Firefox, there's a gap missing on the right side and my skin shows through

screencap

I have changed the button :\ is it still the old one?!
yeah I know that......you see Im not very good with the HTML codes I used the codes of this thread
when you view it in FireFox it looks messy thats why I wrote "best view with internet explorer" ^_^' -_-
