I live in the United States, and Evangelion is still unknown by most people here. Mainly fans of anime know about it.

For my part, I have indeed shown Eva to a few of my friends, and now they are fans also. I hope it becomes more popular! It is such an amazing story, and I think everybody in the world should see it.
