Cities may forget about Kevin Garnett being traded to the Celtics right now.
There's been a major freeway collapse in Minneapolis. A section of Interstate
35w collapsed into the Mississippi River during rush hour. There were at least
50 cars on the bridge(if not more) when it happened. It's just terrible. I lived
in California my whole life and usually a freeway collapses after an earthquake
and most TV news reporters have compared it to that, particularly the I-880
Cypress collapse after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake. However, there are no
earthquakes in Minnesota. It's still unknown what caused the bridge to collapse
or how many people have been hurt or killed.
At least six people have been killed, one from drowning. At least 15 people are
have been taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and six are in serious
condition. The Minnesota Twins have also postponed tomorrow's baseball game
against the Kansas City Royals. A game was already underway when the freeway
collapsed. Incidentally, the Metrodome is less than a mile from the collapsed
freeway and when tonight's game ends, 20,000 plus baseball fans are going to
have a tough time getting home.
i'm glad someone else cares to what happened in minnesota
