Quote by RegenbogenHello SupermilkchanChii!

Thanks for the favs on my wallpapers! I am happy you like them... and you put me on your watchlist! What an honor... so I hope you'll like my future submissions as well... unfortunately I can't make so many though since I am all crazy busy with finishing my university!

Oh well... Oh, I just see you have a Nana userpage! :) I love Ai Yazawas Mangas... and I think the way she dresses her characters is amazing!

well take care and I hope to see you around!

Hey Regenbogen!
It's no problem, your works are amazing! I love the style too. My fave^_^
yeah! Ai Yazawa is an AMAZING artist. She puts so much detail it's amazing!
I love your userpage by the way^_^ It's so very cool!
I hope you get a break soon so you can make more amazing art!
Looking forward to it!

Well, talk about good timing! :D
This is almost spooky - I'm commenting your wall, you're commenting mine.... heh!
Well, I was (still am) impressed by your wall, so naturally I had to comment and fav it - damn, such effort has to be recognized!

You know what? I'm planning - no, make that HOPING (big time) to make more Spirited away wallpapers in a near future - it really is my fav animated movie, and the art itself is just screaming to be walled!
(yeah... something like that ^_^')

Ah, thanks for the invitation for Underappreciated btw! I'm gladly accepting it :)
And wow, thanks for adding me to your watchlist - thaaaank you!

Okies, that's all what I wanted to say... for now :D
Later!

I was really impressed by how you brought in the other bodies, to take it away from being an extreme close-up portrait. I'm glad you ranked so highly because it genuinely was one of my personal favourites in the competition :)

Quote by RegenbogenI like it a lot... and I think "incredibly simple" isn't the right term for this. It may look as if it was just a view lines... but it's also an original and it's not simple at all to get such a drawing! I love how you drew the splashes of water. And the face turned out really well too! Just because the background is white, doesn't make it simple... cool design, looks like some kind of cd cover indeed. People also say the background was empty... oh well... if it was all filled with other stuff... the whole effect would be gone! The thing is... your drawing would work even better if the format was another one... square. In my point of view the wallpaper size isn't that well suited but I can understand that you wanted to make it a wallpaper, but it's not the right format for this kind of drawing.
Anyways I like it a lot! + favs :)

Glad u liked my work!

Guten Morgen Lady Regenbogen,

*I suppose this means: good morning* :) I am glad to see you have applied to the paint-o-rama group. Looking forward to your future works. ^^ Well i can understand reflecting back and noticing small errors or things you should have done differently but as they are of high artistic value I implore you not to delete them. I really should delete my first Murata wall as the extraction is utterly atrocious. But at least i tried my hand with the "pen tool" and not the "wand". It's funny looking back at what took many days to assemble/create in which i could do in under an hour today. I cannot imagine not having the "pen tool". I look forward to your future artworks be they Amano-sama or Lady Regenbogen. ^^

I can relate to being tired and not "feeling" like walling or being creative. Lately i haven't done much myself and have roughly 5 projects in different phases of construction.

I am still working on my diploma and that paper must be around 100 pages long... I think I collected all the comics now, read a lot of books etc. So only some days ago I actually started writing. The topic is rather difficult since these comics are being overlooked, or maybe they are still too new... and well comics in generally are not really accepted as much as they should be. But the situation is improving. More and more are making it into the feuilletons of famous newspapers. But yeah it's a bit risky considering the fact that there are many conservative university professors and they rather appreciate works on pieces of high literature. Well I wanted to do something different... so I am taking the risk! ;-)

Yes; the professors in America would feel the same way as your professors there do. Even though manga and comics are popular and readily available in stores, comics have always suffered this unspoken stigma in America. It's really a travesty as there are some stories that could be considered "high art". Series such as Sandman, Akira etc. Try not to think so much about what your professors reaction will be but to back up your thesis with strong documentation and argument. A fair professor would realize you picked a difficult topic and should reward a strong effort as such.

What foreign country would you like to work in? I can relate to your boredom- i have always wanted to life somewhere else then the East Coast. Perhaps everyone feels the same way? And your Mom is just a concerned parent and will support any decision you make- i'm sure. ^^

Hmm... I am truely sorry about your sister. I can't imagine what happened and I don't want to ask questions cause it must be very painful. I only have one sister... I don't even wanna imagine how I'd feel if she was gone. :( Hmm truely speechless... Well I guess you hear that a lot but I really do hope that you'll feel better soon. We're all living on this planet pushing the thought of death away from us as much as possible... and when such things happen it's hard to accept, especially when young people die. My sister and me both lost a class mate at school... so that wasn't even a family member and it was horrible when the chair was left empty every day and that person wouldn't return anymore to take the seat. :( But it is important to continue with life... anyways I don't want to write a long speech here. And I don't want to cause any more pain by writing all this...

Thank you for your kind words and no you didn't upset me. ^^ My sister, Sarah was studying overseas in Senegal last year and suddenly became very ill and died during a trip to Timbuktu in Mali. The effects have been quite devastating, very sad and quite depressing for me and my family. Not only am i mourning a sister whom I loved more than life itself, but so many things i used to enjoy or valued; seem in essence so meaningless.

I know some Asian cultures place a vase on the student's desk, and as you mentioned the empty desk is quite depressing.

Quote by RegenbogenHave you found an interesting job by now?
I guess finding a job here can be a serious hassle in Germany as well... I'm a bit scared of that... anyways it's important to be optimistic...

No; i haven't found an interesting job yet but hopefully i shall before the months end. try not to worry to much about your future- it will all work out in the end. You are young, pretty, smart, and creative. :)

A bientot Lady Regenbogen

Quote by RegenbogenWow... really interesting and that idea is truely original (as usual from you)... However I somehow like the sketch more than the final piece. I understand why you used so many colors... the crazyness, chaos, all these lights in the world etc. etc. But as DREAM said, maybe some darker colors, to add some contrast to the light ones would have done a better job. However I am really impressed by your orginal art work. If you are on deviant art, please tell me where... *lol* That place is truely crazy, hard to find anyone! ;-)

well , you and DREAM were certainly not the only ones who told me about the colors, somehow people imagine degrading situations in dark colors and somehow I do it in very very bright ones :o, thanks for the nice words in any case, I'm not in deviant art..haha I dont know what's the good side of it, no one has really told me...

anyways
hope everything is going well for you, go and make a wall or something, it'll be nice to see one coming from you.

Hiya Regen-chan ^_^. I just wanted to let you know that I was able to get higher quality images of several of my paintings. They have now been updated on MT, and include some which you have commented on.

Those paintings are...

Uyoku,
Infidelity of Itsuki,
as well as With Open Eyes,
Tears,
and Elf.

All of them are now higher resolution, sharper (so more detail), and the colors are closer in accuracy to the originals. Enjoy!

Quote by RegenbogenI love the Colors and the iguana looks really fascinating. For my taste it's just a bit too much text...

hi ^^/
thanks for comment ^^
i just make another version from color to text. i resize the text, but i'm not make the text shorter. hope you like it, ja ^^

Quote by RegenbogenI love this wallpaper... come to think of it, simplistic wallpapers are most times the one I am enjoying more. Interesting choice of colors... different from what you usally find here on mt... excellent use of patterns... Well and the whole composition... so what more to say... I'll rather add it to my favs. :)

Thanks for your nice comment and fav. It's just about the same with me I like most of the simplistic walls better than the busier walls.

Quote by RegenbogenWooohoooo I love this rabbit... I just joined the Paint-o-rama group and I found your wallpaper there. :) I love the whole concept, too bad I cannot use it on my pc but it's still really beautiful. And I love the blue colors.

Welcome to Paint-o-rama! I actually just join not so long ago too, so yeah ^_^'
Well, feel free to crop it for to your liking, otherwise I may link alternative resolution later :)
Thanks for your comments! :D

Quote by RegenbogenHow cute... walking a ladybug... *lol* It's cute and a funny idea! I'm also enjoying the colors... your wallpaper looks really "modern"... the city scape I don't like a 100%... but somehow it does fit to the whole idea. So... well done! :)

Comments on my walls are always appreciated - but esp. for this one! ^_^

I have a real soft spot for this wall and know that it doesn't really have 'mainstream appeal' so I definitely appreciate your comment and am glad you enjoyed it. [and you liked the ladybug! :D]

Hope you have a good day!

Hello Misa,

glad to hear that you seem to have had a happy birthday. I really think it is okay to forget about work on this special day! Especially for people like you who are always working hard and even forget to drink water! OX
*leaves some bottles of water for Misa*

About me being online... I always am visiting MT to check out notifications. Remember, I am the perfect procrastinator! So when I am at my laptop wondering what to write on my uni papers... I usually take a look at MT. However I didn't have time or hmm.. actually energy left to spend my night after work at the computer to create wallpapers or anything. My eyes were too tired. But now I just missed it too much... I already started another thing. Well who knows whether I will ever finish it!

I am in Germany at the moment... but on Monday I go back to Austria. I am happy because it is so hot here... and I want to go swimming in Austria. Here we don't have any nice lakes, only dirty ones... Nothing compares to the lake I know in Austria so I don't like swimming here.

Hmm... ok I must stop procrastinating now and get back to my work! <_<

Good luck to you! Take care and I hope to hear from you again soon!

Yay~ finally replying ^_^'

>__< I still do forget to drink water these days >_< Thanks for the water :D *chugs*

The perfect procrastinator <3 I guess that'll catch on as the perfect nickname X-P though I don't think you procrastinate that much ;D Or at least, my impression isn't so ^.^ Yeah... lately I work for a few hours and then my eyes start hurting *_* It's a sign that we should all take some more time relaxing XD I'm sure you'll be able to finish it ^_^

Ahhh I see. I haven't swam in a lake before :\ I have a pool downstairs and I don't use it either. We have stupid water restrictions, so we only change our pool about once a month... and there are more than 100 families using it... yuck. I'd use it if I knew when the pool guy comes... but I don't >.< Sounds so nice up there in Germany <3 It's so cold here... and it's not even winter XD

Well I'd better stop procrastinating too lol- this week will be awful >_<
Have fun :D ^^ *cookies*

Quote by RegenbogenSalut Lord Dream,

I missed you a lot around here... I guess you're busy with your job? It's always nice to hear from you. And all these compliments... I am not sure whether my wallpapers actually deserve them...

No black color in "Graveyard Rhapsody"... I know... well if you remember past wallpapers of me, I was always working a lot with black. I like the contrast of black and other colors. But this time it was my intention to avoid any black and create a little spooky atmosphere only with red thus warm colors... Maybe I just overused the black with my last original work... *lol*

The position of the gravestone... I see... more to the center after all? Well it took me some time to find a position for it... I always experience these positioning troubles in my wallpapers... >.<

I read about gemini and its origin in greek mythology... about Kastor and Polydeukes... and there are different tales concerning their parents. But yeah so I enjoyed to draw this crown on the gravestown... that I saw on some photo during my gravestone research. *lol* Many people tell me that my walls were simple... but I actually put quite some effort into them... ;)

Thanks for the compliments. Your opinion is very important since I appreciate your taste on art. I am sorry that again I wasn't using one of your fantastic scans of Amano's art works. *sigh* Somehow I feel as if I lost the mindlessness of the days when I only started to make wallpapers. I simply enjoyed Amano's works and I was less scared to use them for my wallpapers. Now they just look too perfect to me... ~_~

Most happy to read that "Graveyard Rhapsody" made it to your desktop! :)

I must get back to my uni work now...

Hope to hear from you again soon... take care and "a bientot"!

bonsoir Lady Regenbogen!
it's great to see that you are still active on Mt and creating artworks. :)
re: your latest wall i understand your choice in colors totally- i just don't think if i were to wall that art that i could have created anything that wasn't very dark. so i was really impressed. :)

your walls most surely do deserve all the compliments and accolades they receive. ^^
i think perhaps you should consider joining the paint-o-rama group:
http://paint-o-rama.minitokyo.net/

yup.. i thought the gravestone was "pulling" just a little too much to the left. but honestly that is a very very minor criticism. "gravestone research" lol; that's funny..

oh no never apologize for not making another Amano wall- i love to see walls from artists i admire that surprise me. i am a huge fan of Nahoo Lee's and i believe your wall is the 2nd of that. also you are in my top 5 of my favourite Amano waller's. :)

i know you have wanted to focus more on your own original works but it is great to see you create wallpapers from other artists as well. i have been neglecting my deviantArt account, so i don't know if you have submitted works there. also the last time i checked my notification system changed whereas new submissions had a very small thumbnail not they do not.

so is school almost over? how did your thesis on female comic artists go? i believe that was the topic. are you still working in the clothing store and or going back to Germany after graduation?

well, i have been around MT but lurking in the shadows. my youngest sister, Sarah died in Africa last year. i have been pretty lethargic [lazy/tired/exhausted] and haven't been feeling very creative but i traveled a little and need to find a job soon as i'm running out of cash. finding good jobs in the US can be a serious hassle [even if you have a college degree] but at least that is somewhat in my control.

i hope you are well.

Hello Rhonda,

thanks for the very nice comment in my guestbook! :) Well I guess until I start finding a job there'll be some more months left... but thank you very much for wishing me luck. I think I do need it... *lol* And yeah you are so right about the people. I do have a job next to university at the moment. Somehow I got important experiences from it even though it's just a job in a clothing store. The people there are nice... at least most of them! ;)

When will you make a new wallpaper? :)

Take care and enjoy your day!

Oh little jobs even give you lots of experiences just in themselves. And it's great you work with nice people haha or at least mostly nice people. XD And oh I am sort of working on a wall right now. I am painting two black and white scans and I already finished the girl (which took me almost a week ahh) and now I'm doing the guy so I haven't even done anything for a background and I'm just hoping I can do something good because just painting these scans takes Forever and I don't want that hard work going to waste because I can't do a background. XD Thats what has me a bit worried, hehe. ^_^' Well anyways, always glad to hear from you! Take care and have a great day! :D

Quote by RegenbogenHi...

Hmm yes I think your wall defintely has something. I enjoy the idea with the stars... this repetion of the one that she has on the t-shirt... cool! :) What I don't like that much is the background... first of all maybe the gray should have been just a little bit lighter to add some more contrast to the black... but that is something you can have different opinions about and my computer screen may be different. It's just that I think the messy background doesn't fit to the very clean concept of the wall. I don't think it was necessary. Maybe you wanted to fill the background with something... well if so then I would have chosen something cleaner... apart from that it's pretty cool! Maybe the water in the glass should be the same color as the other orange/red parts... it's a bit different I think... ^^

Thanks for the comment on my wallpaper, Take A Drink!
Yeah... this wallpaper definitely need some work on it. The background is so plain, but I did not know what to add in it. >_> But anyway, thanks a lot for the comment! I appreciate it. :)

Quote by RegenbogenHello Misa,

hmm... I was just clicking on the link for arete II that I got in my notifications, but it doesn't work. I read the whole thing on the Schattenrand groupsite so it's okay... but I am confused now where to write that I want to take part?... *lol* So I am spamming your guestbook... Sorry! XD Well last time I've been a judge so this time I'd like to submit an entry... and the deadline is quite nice too! :)
Great that you are taking over Schattenrand. The group was rather dead so I don't think Omni will be upset with you for awaking it from the dead... or half dead... Lovely arete II website also... I don't think your html/css is that crappy! ;) I'm totally admiring how you can set up a website in a few moments! O_o

Well take care and I hope to hear from you again soon...

Oh, almost forgot, due to my excitement on arete II *lol*... thanks for the comment and fav on my latest wallpaper! :)

Oh dear @_@ I changed the name of the thread and it ended up getting deleted ._. But I'm assuming you're participating, so I guess it's okay <3 I'll just change my advertisements XD

Thanks for your kind words :D

As for your last reply, I will get back to that soon ^_^' Sorry for taking a while... it's because I was bricklaying this afternoon and I ache all over >_< *needs sleep* lol >_<

Quote by RegenbogenAnd I don't understand why you call it superficial... You mean beauty is superficial?

Random title, cause I normally out of idea for titles. No, I didn't mean beauty is superficial, but maybe I interpreted that beauty isn't the most important thing in our life. Sorta.

Quote by Regenbogen
"end of a soul's dream"... lol It's funny too if you start thinking about the meaning... the lines leading up under her skirt? Hmm oh I am just seeing that now... the red line reminds me a little of blood? Yeah well this wallpaper is open for lots of interpretations! *lol*

Yeah, it is blood. Lots of interpretations? lol I can only see one though. I hate that comment on the period thing cause it isn't about that, but it's likely about how a baby doesn't make its way to the world because her mother's having abortion. lol Yeah, abortion... o_O (it's so random)

Anyway, thanx a bunch for the comments and fav on some of my works. And watchlisting me too =)

Oh well I finished my first year in college so I have one more in this college I'm going then I'm going to a university. And oh yeah I completely understand about getting a job. I wish you good luck with all that! :D I so hope you find a job you like and with people you like because sometimes the people working there ruin it. XD Thanks for everything! You are so nice! :) I hope you have a great day! And again I hope you find a great job for you! Good Luck!

Quote by RegenbogenHallo,
