Yo, marfish14, this is slightly getting off topic so I brought it here. I think
I mentioned it earlier in the same thread, but I'm actually not going into
particle physics, I'm going into applied physics: semiconductors and
optoelectronic materials.
Can't wait till the LHC gets done at CERN and we see some results on the Higgs
boson or CP violation. We don't have any accelerators at my university (UCSD);
the physicists there just go to facilities like Fermilab or CERN when they're on
sabbatical. I actually have a friend (same class level as me) who's pretty much
dead set on being a particle physicist; he has a research internship with the
department and he is at Fermilab for the summer, as we speak! It's pretty
exciting, even though it's not ultimately what I want to go into.
Are you into physics as well? You seem to know a thing or two that I wouldn't
expect anyone else at this site to know.

glad that you are thinking about that, even i went through that and even
sometimes now! it is hard to believe in something that you cannot see, but that
is why it is called faith.
I hope you realize that since you are only 16 (i think) the stuff at school you
and i have learned is WAYYYY outdated, the text books from science have the same
info from textbooks 10 years ago as well as the fact that our teachers were
taught eons ago :P hahaha (don't tell them that) and so as you know, science is
advancing all the time, they have found more new stuff, but they also have come
up with NEW THEORIES which have replaced old theories

where i have come up with my stuff ... they are real scientists with their
degrees and qualifications
I found researching into these topics ... try and disprove what these scientists
know with real evidence from a good source and see what u come up with... thats
what i did
