To make them thicker, you just view the scan at 100%. If you want to make them thinner you have to zoom in at either 200% or 300% and use more anchor points. And if they feel uneven, you can move or remove the anchor points and adjust them.

But for starts, start vectoring thicker lines first for some practice. =3
