thanks for the scans lady markjo- i love them. GITS rules. i still haven't
watched the tv series yet. actually i do own the manga by Shirow-san but haven't
fully read it yet. o_O
i am eagerly awaiting the movie "paprika". it looks really good.
Quote by markjoYou have submitted today
some great pieces of art by by Sumeragi Natsuki and I was wondering if there
will be some more?
Yes, I will submit other pictures of course I didn't
scan them all at once because it takes time and I have to revise for my exams
Actually, I was surprised that this artbook wasn't already on MT.
Anyway, thank you very much for your comments and fav !
Quote by markjoThank you very much for the
favourites!
No problem with the favs 'cause they were all well deserved.
Your scans are wonderful, simply amazing.
Thanks a lot for sharing
Well, take care and take it easy
See ya
Quote by markjoYou maybe right about the
differentiation between your site and MT. But I am glad I checked out the site
as I don't have much time in general and I don't really go that often to
people's sites. In your case, I'd miss some great wallpapers as one of the walls
I downloaded then - Some Fishes and a Butterfly - is my current desktop for over
a month, which is really a kind of record
.
Oh really? *breaks out into huge silly grin* Thanks so much again Made
my day. Or night rather
I only just saw the comment you left on the Field of Lights wall @ my blog
about... a month ago... lol. Quickly prompted me to change the comment setting
on that thing So I wanted to say much thanks for dropping by and... I guess I
could submit some of those walls to MT, but I feel like this being primarily an
anime wall site... just feels a bit out of place to me And a
little bit of distinction in my mind is good, I think. Different goals,
different mindset.
Anyhow thanks again, hope you'll have a lovely weekend
Quote by markjoAs usually, a big thank you
for the info and links - I'll tell you what I think of 'Hero' as soon as I read
it. The art looks promising, though.
On the side, I'm not such a big fan of Neil Gaiman, I guess I prefer Alan Moore
and his 'V for Vendetta' more. To me he's even better than Frank Miller and his
'Sin City' series. I also liked a lot the film with Hugo Weaving and Natalie
Portman - this theme is a hobby of mine and '451 Fahrenheit' and '1984' are
amongst my favourite books ever.
hello lady markjo- it has been a while. i hope you are doing well. ^^ well my
favourite Frank Miller works are "Ronin", "Daredevil",
Elektra" and "Batman" stuff. of those, two have been filmed quite
poorly- i was quite happy to see the cinematic integrity of Sin City. i have 300
on my pc and have watched that the other night- the film is good [i'd give it
about a 3/4]. of course i have the original comic as well.
i did enjoy "V" but it could have been better- that is one of the
problems of filming an Alan Moore story; the man is quite simply a genius and an
expert on English literature especially. i think "From Hell" has been
the best adaption thus far. but if my memory is correct Moore hated that movie.
have you read "Promethea"? that's very good as well.
i must admit i never cared for the "Swamp Thing" stuff though. how
many graphic novels are inspired by Latin? the title for "Watchmen"
comes from "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" i.e who will watch[guard]
over the watchers[guards] themselves?
actually [don't laugh] i am partial towards "The League of Extraordinary
Gentlemen". i loved that novel but the film was so hideous. not sure if
you have seen this but crapmonster made a vector wall of the cover image. wall
the director of 300, Zack Synder is directing "Watchmen". it has been
well over 10 or 15 years since i read that graphic novel but to me it seems
quite unfilmable.
i have seen only one screen shot thus far: rorshach
i love Bradbury as well. i remember in grade school there was a short story that
he wrote that i cannot remember i even checked wikipedia. the basic premise
concerned a planet, possibly earth that never ever sees the sun. and one day the
sun comes out and all but this one child whom is tied up [held captive somehow]
get to see the sun for the first time of their lives. it was a great short
story. if that sounds familiar please let me know.
oh yes i was looking throughout your gallery for a scan that you posted a while
ago but deleted. i will pm you the image [i don't want anyone else to wall it-
lol] and if you could kindly identify the author; and then if you actually own
the art-book and could saw rescan it at a higher resolution and leave it raw, i
would be humbly in your debt. that is a
serious run-on sentence.
Quote by markjoCan I request a new artist
category for akochin (spelt with a small letter)?
There are 13 scans on MT and all of them are in my
gallery.
Yes, if you give me the links as well as the
artist's name
Quote by markjoNo way in the world is
Seiji Kisaragi a woman!
He's a background character in the manga and wants to become a famous
hairdresser and make-up artist, that's why he looks like a "shiny
alien" (that's what Mikako calls him anyway
).
D: omg it is a guy?! *__*
I was looking for boobies and just thought it was a flat woman ;;
Lol
Thanks for all your comments :P It is indeed a pretty nifty artbook :P Only I
bought it way too late after it was released
Quote by markjoWhen I first downloaded the
artbook, my first thought was that downloading it was not worth the time. But
the more I look at it, the more I like it .
I thought the same when I saw the images. But then I
just wanted to upload them and while uploading I started to like the scans.
Quote:
I'm cleaning my gallery and removing the scans not done by me - so don't be
suprised by the number of scans to purge! ***** All images in my gallery were
scanned by me or given credit to the best of my knowledge. If you are the author
of those few uncredited scans or you may provide me with a name, please do so
and I'll edit the description.
X_X omg... what are you going to do with those scans you purge?
I mean if its quality scans it should still be in the galleria...
Quote by markjoActually I have never torn
apart any of my artbooks - all the scans in my gallery are from artbooks I
treasure and collect, none of them sustained any damage because of scanning.
Then I'm very impressed. I've always had to remove pages in order to get optimal
quality, especially when scanning double page spreads. At any rate you've saved
me the painful ordeal of mutilating my book, so I can't thank you enough
[EDITED YET AGAIN 1/26/07]
the article by Neil Gaiman was printed in V magazine. the article was entitled
"The Return Of The Thin White Duke" and featured Amano's artwork:
see HERE.
click on images for full size.
ok; no more spamming for a bit. ^^
Quote by markjoThanks a lot for the
information on Takeshi Ohgushi - now I know why I actually took a fancy to that
artist . Having a deep interest in designing clothes, I instantly liked his works,
probably due to the sketchiness of the art and its minimalism.
Btw, have you seen 'Hero' by Neil Gaiman, the version illustrated by Yoshitaka
Amano? I was wondering if you had a chance of reading the graphic novel.
Oh, and here is some Motoko for U: http://www.fileupyours.com/files/79478/Motoko.rar
See you soon...

hello lady markjo! take a close look at my avatar. i actually managed to pick up
not only Amano's "Hero" Volume 1 today but also a limited edition [of
500] "Hero Gallery
Supplement" of artwork not included in the book due to size
considerations etc. i just finished scanning that and will send it to you, DC,
and a few other Mt ladies in the next few days. ^^ think of it as a little gift
for reminding me. last year i inquired at a local comic book shop and was told
the series was cancelled. clicky
the book credits the writers as Yoshitaka Amano and Jessie Horsting. i know
Amano-san isn't fluent in English enough to converse ; so i don't know if
Horsting translated or had a more active role in the writing. i gave the book a
cursory glance and saw the English word "fuck" a few times..
lol
Neil Gaiman wrote the introduction to Amano's "Hero" in 1999. i
believe Amano may have sent Gaiman material from "Hero" [which appears
in 2 of his art-books] when they conspired on the Sandman "Dream
Hunters". obviously they respect and loved working together and i hope they
conspire more. Gaiman's "Sandman" series is my favourite graphic novel of
all time and you know how i feel about Amano-sama. but i remember reading about
an article Neil Gaiman wrote for a magazine [French?] about "Hero"
which i cannot find on google. Anyhow i am
convinced he based "Hero" on David Bowie although Amano has vaguely
suggested it is Jeff Beck.
interview with Amano from
his Hong Kong art show last year.
be sure to select Part 2[the pink button to the far right] and then type in the
number of the question [1-10] Amano will answer the question in Jap. and an Eng.
translation will appear, i just tried it.
we; gotta get you a decent userpage set up- link me 5 or 6 favourite scans and i
can try to get you some options. all you need to do is select colors
etc...
yes, Oghushi and Mafuyu create beautiful fashionable artwork. when looking at
art i love to see a conception of "beauty" fulfilled and i really get
that vibe from those 2 artists. by beauty i mean more like "truth"
than beautiful. hard to explain; but i really admire their work and i can see
why you love Oghushi's work so much. i am partial towards those works in yellow
and black. ah fashion. have you seen "The Devil Wears Prada"? good
movie.
and thank you for the Motoko scans- i love them. i think Shirow-san is the only
artist whose ecchi works i enjoy on an artistic level. haha :nervous laughter:
be sure to upload a few scans from your Amano book, when you have a chance. . ^^
well i seriously apologize for this rambling & grammatical awkward
passage.

favourites!
Haha ok, I'll try to puzzle it out. Thanks for dropping by with clarification
Quote by markjoLately (due to the illness
I mentioned earlier) my life sucked, so I am the more grateful for the DVD you
attached to the artbook. I had a chance to look through it and fell in love with
all the art there... I left some of the goodies to explore fully later, as I did
not want to have a heart attack on the spot .
I also managed today to go through some of your recent submissions (recent,
yeah, they're like 3 weeks old) and I loved Ohgushi - do happen to know anything
more about the artist?
I really envy you for your eye for great art... and I envy you your collection
of artbooks .
i am glad you enjoyed the dvd- it's great isn't it? i hope you are feeling
better and had a good new years. it seriously sucks being sick. i love to read
your comments and insights on the artworks.
