in most subjects, there's a reason. unless you are talking about abstract in
art.
but every of our action has reason. tell me, why are you replying to

aren't you are thinking of something when you are writing this:
"........... I guess sometimes the mods assume too many
things........"
Haha..... abstract art........
I'm replying to you because you first sent me the message with the impression
that I needed to reply back
And I don't have the nerve to just ignore someone when they are asking for
something from me......
So the reason I wrote back is because I took that as an obligation

when the question says 'why', it always reply with 'because'.
self-explanatory isn't always the right answer. you can't expect others to know
what you are thinking. this isn't guessing game. this is discussion, that's why
we call it forum.
Yeah it said why...... and I said "guess blabla" because when it comes
to why questions, nothing is true..... Why is one plus one two? So obvious but
can't answer that can ya? Or I'd be surprised if you can convince me with a good
answer
And nobody can be sure why unless I'm the mod who did it....... and is it wrong
to tell them maybe it was so even though I'm not sure?

you didn't include the reason of your opinion. that's the reason. otherwise,
anyone can just write their expression, even spammers. spammers don't spent some
time to say. it happens so frequently in MT that enforcement is tighten up in
MT3. you can even see there are many not-so-useful treads, thus encouraging
spams.
for example, i can just write "what's the big deal with your problem?"
in a forum. then others will get confuse and assume i am just talking nonsense,
thus goes to report.
in another example, i can even say "i hate you". why? i want to say
and have the right to say that. is that the correct way? no. without reasoning
your opinion, there is chaos because of misunderstood. that's why there are
stupid riots in the world.
concrete reason will back up your opinions. that's the actual freedom of

Well anyways thanks for the advice......... not that I'd go along with it but

thanks very much for your recommendation. i shall check it out sooner.
yup, originally, art is very much a solid visual expression of human [civilization]. but in somewhere
between 15th to 19th centuries, the appearnce of ornamental decorations had
created an art of different classes. thus, art became a sign of social classes
until the war torn them apart. i wonder if you have heard before an art movement
in Germany called Bauhaus? that movement stressed that art is a need rather than
luxury. thus, many of its innovations including architectures abandoned
decorations ah, i'm getting too far to art history
Very much indeed, an art with meanings in each and every lines and objects are
better than art that's for decoration purpose. it lasts longer because it has
our feelings attached
Indeed I am somewhat familiar with Bauhaus. I think your
assessment of the historical trend in art may not be taking into account
artistic traditions in all parts of the world. So depending of which continent
you are speaking of, art developed rather differently.
I think that in the past there has always been a distinction between folk art
and "higher art." The art regarded as good by the nobility has always
been different than what the common people appreciated or even recognized as
art. And that in itself, the perception of what constitutes art, has been
dramatically different the further back in history you go.
Though the definition of art has become broader today, it is still quite narrow
within the art community, and it is not the definition that subscribe
to.
Quote: not to forget, thanks very
much for your comments and adding into your favourite ^^ yeah, the eyes are your
reminder indicator, right?
the composition was quite rough because that time, i used inappropriate
materials, like wrong pencils. but it was listed as elite item due to the fact
of the 'creative' idea in composing this piece
but my apologize for not having any thank you card. the photobucket was jammed
once more.
hmm.....do you have any idea how the culture of giving thank cards begin? when i
was here in the beginning, the thank card was so popular that it looks like a
rule.
i apologize for late reply. do take care and see you around
You are very welcome for the fav. And don't worry about
not having a card. I think that the "card image" has become a little
too popular, and people often just post a generic "thanks for the
comment/fav" image now, making it feel somewhat impersonal.
So I rather prefer not to have the card, and instead read a comment that is
interesting which the user put effort in to write. That is also why I do not use
"cards" as such, but write comments to users.
Quote: somehow, this art piece
looks similar to my coming work- the mixture of Art-nouveau, gothic, and pop
art. and the name uyoku sounds similar to Japanese wood print
'ukiyo-e"
i was wondering in the first glance, "is this Picasso's artwork?" the colours
and abstraction is pretty much great. yup, it's very worth to be hung in the
living room. the feelings can be felt through the lines
right now, i'm still having an empty canvas.....the Acrylic is still too
expensive to me
I am also very thankful that you liked this
piece and have written such nice things about it. It does indeed look quite nice
on the wall, and retains qualities which are lost in such a digital image. That
is also why it's important to download the full version in order to see the
detail in the painting.
I'll be looking forward to seeing your new piece, since you say it share some
similarities with Uyoku. I hope that chose the right Japanese word for the
title, and that the dictionary did not confuse me ^_^.
Quote: Samurai is commonly
associated with sakura flowers. What beholds its significance is "beauty
isn't eternal,". That explains straight to his life: though achieving
numerous glories, it will soon stop, full stop.
and the guilt is much more true as samurai doesn't live by his own will; he is
bounded by his master, a slave to the force, but the movers of the history of
Japan.
_______________________________________________
the blend between the background and the samurai is just simply fantastic. not
just that, the random speed of brush strokes shows well the feeling of chaos-
the guilt, and resentment in his mind now. i guess if those brush strokes are in
blood colour, that even deepens the emotions O__O
"the sword is the only companion". that's why many samurais lived in
reclusive
Thank you again for such thoughtful words. I'm glad
you understand this piece so well. In fact, much of the black elements in the
background are intended to be blood, but had I made them red they would have
completely overwhelmed the piece. As such, they represent many of the elements
you speak of, as well as blood, as only a dark shadow.
So thank you for the nice comments, and the favs, which are greatly appreciated.
Take care ^_^, and I'm sure I will hear form you again...

Well, I don't know for sure.

Hello, mentis
it's alright. i'm glad you did made some classic oriental artworks. it's one of
my best favourite art ^^
actually, i like your title "art is no luxury". it's so meaningful to
me too. that should be the way! art is to be

THAT!
see you around~ ^______^
Hi Kokuyu ^_^. Thank you for your
reply. If you enjoyed the Rokujo wall, and are fond of that more traditional
style, you may also like my other wall... Senseki.
I agree with your sentiments about art. For me, art is not a luxury as some
people believe it is, but rather it is a necessity. I believe art makes the
world a better place, and without it life looses its meaning. Then we must also
ask the question "what is art?" But that's another discussion
altogether .
In any case, thank you again. I was glad to read your comment. Take care...
