Have you ever thought about being a teacher of some sort?
Like the kind that goes and teaches children about animals?
Even if your sight is impared, you could lecture while your assistant displays the animals. I think (to me) that would be a fullfilling job, teaching kids about animals.

Also, I think, if there is no possibility to repair your vision, that you could still become involved with animals. Even a working at a vet's office. I don't know for sure. However, I'm sure that there is something out there for you... and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
