Haha, anyway, your advice is pretty much useful, and I'm gonna improve it. ( I hate to update stuff) but this is for the contest, I'll try my best! Thanx and I'll comment your painting when you're done.

Thanks for your comment! Yup, I know the blending in the wallpaper sucks... but it's obvious that I was a bit rushed to finish in the end, so that's how it came out I'll be more careful next time

I think the highlighting on lacus needs a bit more of a yellow/orange tone too, to go along with the sunset. Right now it looks as if her highlighting is too white. I also think Lacus' hair wouldve looked better if it had more colors in it. See how you have all those colors in just the sand? I would do the same thing with lacus because she looks very plain with only one base color and one shadow color and one highlight color for each part of her.

what I usually do, if the character's eyes are small and grainy, is go through all the scans on MT and see if I can find another scan that has their eyes in it. Then you can study the details on how their eye is supposed to look, and you can use that info for the eyes in the vector. usually helps! ^-^

what do you mean? Like using stock photos and painting over them? Hm..well what most people do is just filter them by using the filter gallery and stuff to give it a painted anime look, but if you want to know how to paint over it using the brush tool, I would ask PinkPrincessLacus because that is her specialty and shes better at it than me. I usually dont paint over stock photos...I just create stuff on my own. ^-^

oh, also, i forgot to tell you but your vector will be up in the most improved section once i find time to update CL! *hugs*

i think your overall vectoring is pretty good. You might need to pay attention to tiny details a bit more, like kurogane and fye's eyes (or mebbe the scan was grainy because that messes up vectors sometimes). your vector is a bit choppy, but everyone is like that when they first start vectoring! (lol im still choppy hehe) you know, i got a great tutorial somewhere in my favs list that I got from eldalacus a while ago..lemme find it. it helps to reduce the choppiness A LOT.
