Quote by MapleRoseHmm, if the original idea was a night sky, shouldn't the darker colour of the gradient be on top? Maybe instead of just a straight-line gradient, try using a circular one, with light at the center and dark at the outside, kinda like he's in a spotlight.

I like the pose for this one, and the design of the chair-like thingy he's leaning on (and how it matches the patterns on his clothes :) ) So maybe you can expand that, by using that kind of pattern/shapes to create stylized clouds sort of like what you'ved done for Moonrise (or maybe even a cresent moon

I have no problem with a "simple" background, esp if the focal character design is good enough. However, I think using the gradient you have right now is taking the focus away from Zuru, because the dark colours at the bottom gives it a "heavy" feeling (kinda opposite of "relax :D ). So you can either do an abstract background pattern like the one used in Sweet Dreams, or, you can just forget about patterns and use a solid-colour background (like this one: Amano Couture by bluSake ), though, since Zuru colouring is brushed instead of vectored, maybe blotch on a few dabs of colour on the background will blend it in better :)

Heh, the pose was from drawing him using two circles, and it Zuru ended up as if sleeping on the crescent moon when I finished, but I don't remember why I decided to change it ^_^' I guess maybe cause I thought of Moonrise that I decided I wanted to do something different rather than reusing an idea I already did and have each with its own idea.

Yeah, I didn't expand on this yet, but I wanted to make him look like he was sitting on a cloud ^_^' It doesn't look like that now, but I'm currently working on that now so it looks more like one.

I will try doing your suggestions to make it better :D Thanks

Also, I'm working on a new thanking image, so this is just temporary ^_^'

Quote by MapleRoseit is a pretty scan, though it's not Kureno and Ritsu, but rather Katsuya and Kyoto (Tohru's parents). You can tell that's Kyoto when she still had long hair by the butterfly imagery (like her earrings and sleeve) since her nickname is the "red butterfly".

anyway, nice atmosphere, kinda romantic to fit the pose. Though I don't like that white glow around them all that much.. if you wanted a glow, maybe diffuse it a bit more, ie make it less bright and fade out more. And the reflection of the land should be less opaque...

Yeah I've been told it wasn't Kureno and Ritsu, thanks for telling me. ^^ Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely think of this next time I try to do a wall similar to this.
Well, take care~

Quote by MapleRoseIt's just something the founders of the club have decided from the beginning :) As for who "runs" the club, the people usually run things (like updating the pages, running events, or make announcements) are Anjhurin, Ephemeral-Garden, Pegassuss , Glassheart, and Ryuuen.

Members are posting doujin here basically to share their latest works. And yes, you did sort of come at a quiet time, because we usually have Monthly Display Contests, but currently because it's the end of year/beginning of new year, it's not set up at the moment :)

Ahh, okay. Well, that clarifies things a bit. I kind of thought maybe the group wasn't really active anymore. But I'm glad to hear that this isn't the case. I'll keep an eye out on it and maybe I'll even join :P. Thanks for letting me know! Arigato...

Quote by MapleRoseyeah, it'd probably be easier to put the images in a table and center the whole table, that way, the top and bottom images would actually stay together no matter what resolution you use, because for me with a widescreen res (1280 x 800), the top and bottom part of the images don't line up:
http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/8609/untitled2cy5.th.jpg

oh...by any chance, would you happen to know the code to get everything to align in one table?

'Sup! Sorry it took me so long to respond; here's a link banner for Seven Stars. If it's not the right size, let me know and I'll make another one [I've totally neglected this aspect ^_^' me lazy sometimes].

I'd like to affiliate with both your sites, but if you only want to affiliate with one or another, it's OK with me. Let me know! ;)

Quote by MapleRosepretty, looks like a doujin, which is probably why Tama-chan had brown eyes in the original scan...

anyway, nice vector, I like the lighter-coloured outlines, and the soft shading (did you use brushes or gradients?), though I think Tamaki and Haruhi's hair probably should be outlined as well, because it looks a bit odd with everything else outlines except for those areas...

I thought the same about the original pic.
I used gradients....aahh the hair....i'm too lazy to do that now, but maybe i will (maybe)
Anyway, thanks ;)

Quote by MapleRoselol, woah that is random XD looks like he's wearing one of those super-reflective sunglasses :D Neat idea!

Yeah That's random XD
Hahaha i just need to do a super-random wall.
Thanks for the comments

Have a nice day Rose!

Hmm .. very good points ..
I usually do the off-center thing as well but can't remember why I did that .. I think it's because I really wanted her to be the center item since it's supposed to be a swag design type of thing. Hmm .. good point though, that might be what's throwing me off about the composition - it's not te text, might be the girl.

Quote: lol, I had a hunch that this entry was yours

Really? What made you think that - which part of this resounds 'supermonchi'ness? lol!

r q g

thnx for the comment and fave on xmas! XD

i nvr tape my watercolours down so the paper crumples and somethings r missed out when scanned, like the mouth. ^_^'

Quote by MapleRosehmm why are you multiplying by 10? It's only 13 episodes, I've marathoned animes longer than that, besides, I get paid for it! If it's uninteresting I'll just zone out :D So sure.

For a million $$ would you give up the ability to laugh?

Ehehehee...I meant to say the whole series ten times.

Quote by MapleRosehmm, he reminds me of a knight, probably due to the sword :D or maybe an assassin due to the cape... lol, the slightly open eyes make him look kinda... evil I think :D If not evil, then, secretive, like he's got something to hide..

I like how you outlined him, reminds me of China ink... did you vector it?

lol, he does looks like a dark and secretive character, but I haven't really decided = =" But I guess his main role is a companion/bodyguard of Zuru ^^"

Yeah, I vectored it, and it reminded me of china ink too, thats why I kept the texture of the paper so it had some traditional feel to it instead of just white background ^_^'

Quote by MapleRosewow, nice vector! I like the colour choices (esp for their skin colour, it's very unique :)), they go together really well :) And the background is neat too! though I kinda wish you didn't cut off the top of Rukia's hair...

thanks for your nice comment Maple-san XD
I'm glad you like the choice of color and thanks for your opinion ^^

Hiya MapleRose XD. Thought I'd check out your page! Thank you for the comment in my thread as well. I think I must have seen you around MT somewhere before. Also, I like you doujinshis, so I'll go and take a closer look at your gallery now.

I hope it's okay if I add you to my friendslist!

Quote by MapleRoseyay somebody walled this scan! I loved the scan the moment I saw it, and I'm glad you've decided to make a wallpaper out of it :)

and wow, this is awesome for your first wallpaper! nice blending of the brushes, though I don't think the text is necessary (it's kinda big and distracting...). Also, I think this should be in anime wallpapers since it does feature two anime characters...

oh, thanks for the comment, oh and i'll edit it and transfer it to anime wallpapers since there actually is an anime to it...and here's a card...

Thank you for your comment, you are too kind. I'm happy you liked the work, and the colours, (even though I'm getting depressed so I can't stand too much cheerful colours at once, that's why the theme is somewhat sad...)

Hi Maple-sama, thanx for your comment on my Superficial wallie. I'm still new at Cg-ing, I saw your artworks used alot of CG, and it's really awesome.

Quote by MapleRoseneat character design (unique and cute :) ) Nice composition and balance ^___^ I love those stylized clouds and the gradient on the moon, as well as the calm colour scheme, though the grass brushes don't quite seem to fit (esp since there's one blade of blue grass while the rest are more aqua).

Hah, I see what you mean about the grass, I will try to correct it. Thanks you for your comment and the fav! :D

Hey there, it's been a while :)

Yeah I finally finished FMA, and the movie too :) I love it! ^___^ Riza/Roy is now one of my fave pairings (though I have to admit I'm still obsessed with Mwu/Murrue), and I've got a couple of drawings of them half-way finished. The characters are all pretty likable, esp the main characters (I just love doodling Ed, he's just so adorable and fun to draw :D ). The ending, I admit, wasn't what I expected... and even with the movie, it feels a bit open-ended. I also watched the chibi OVA and the after-movie OVA, which are very cute and adorable >.< (FMA chibis are so cute :)). I'm actually working on a comic-parody thingy on the ending of FMA ;) And on the top of my userpage I've installed an Ed clock ^___^

Anyway, about the pic, those three girls are currently my top favourite characters. I find Riza really easy to draw (I seem to be able to get her right on the first try, and without any references), though Roy is such a pain to draw, I can never get him to look right... Actually, after finishing that picture, I kinda wished I put Mireille Bouquet of Noir in there instead of Riza. NOT because Riza's not awesome, but because Mireille, Murrue, and Misato are all voiced by the same person in Japanese (who I am a fan of), and all of their names start with 'M', and Mireille is a professional assassin, thus she's a perfect shot with a gun... Oh well, guess I'll just have to do another one later :)

Thanks! and I'll talk to ya later :)

Woo - Love Roy and Riza! I so know what you mean about drawing Roy - I've drawn him once and he's looked okay - the other attempts <_<. The one I drew that looked good was just a sketch, so I don't think I'll be posting it in my gallery - plus his hand is a bit wierd ^_^'. Another character I have issues drawing is Winry - I just can't get her right!

*FMA Spoiler!* << For anyone reading your userpage :P The manga is different from the anime - once it gets to the Greed bit in the anime - it totally diverges from the manga. The manga is stil going. I liked the movie, but only because it was FMA, and well I love Ed in Munich :nya:

Haha you said the ending wasn't what you expected - I don't think ANYONE expected that - not even the creator Hiromu - apparently (though I'm yet to find any T_T she drew some omake's paying out the end of the anime. It was DEFINITELY a twist - eh I'm still undecided how I feel about it - I mean like I said, love Ed in Munich, but the whole door thing seemed kind of inconsistent...

The OVA's were nice, I love the chibi one the movie after party - it was funny as - Winry getting angry at Ed!
*end Spoilers* X-P

As soon as you mentioned Ed clock - I went straight back to your userpage to check it out - love it! I want one... wonder if you can make them?

I trying to color in Lacus atm - it looks a bit amateurish though - and I was about to get back at working on my Character profile of Ed - but I can't find my images T_T OX It's quite depressing - I may have to start again :(

And as for your picture : Wow are they all voiced by the same person - that's awesome! I haven't watched Noir - but I was reading about in Newtype the other day - would you recommend watching it - it does look interesting from what I read :)

Anyways, Happy New Year and talk to you later :)
