Vectors are re-traces of scans that make them cleaner. You use a program like Illustrator or Photoshop to vector.
Vectors and doujinshi fall under the "Indy Art" section. Doujinshi is, of course, original drawings by people.

I don't think you'd get warned for ripping for submitting scans (unless they're wallpaper sized)
Though a lot of those scans were rather small and after checking MT Policy, it says that scans "must have a minimum of one million (1,000,000) pixels, may not be grayscale images, and must have at least sixteen bits per pixel." (if you wanna know how many pixels your scan has, multiply the height and width.)
As for double posting, well, the only way to find out about that would have to be to go through a scan's gallery to check for doubles. If you're not sure about a series, I suggest using the Anime Pictures Dump forum. Post a thread there with links to the scans you don't know what series/artist they belong to, and someone should be able to help you out (and, if we're lucky, they might point out if one of your scans is already on the site )

Okay, here is what I meant by reference. I will start off with a short story:

and also, I want to ask a waller something and since you are a waller, I am wondering why does some wallpaper make the face especially bright and making the mouth of the character hardly visible...is that how he or she want the wall to be like or something else? but i find that a flaw to the wall since I do like the character to stand out with the background supporting and special effects emphasizing the character....but that is my own thinking. every waller is different. How long? well depends, I have exams right now
and no free time, but I can probably slip some time in.

Well for me, the first thing new wallers should understand
is that every waller has their own style like you said, what they wish
to do with their works is their opinion and they like it, You don't
have to like it because it's not yours, if your happy with your works
then thats what matters
Never wall for others, wall for yourself because
you can only make yourself happy

If you end up trying to impress everyone you
end up being unhappy with your works and thats no way
to wall.

Wall cause it's fun, wall cause it what you love
to do ^^

Your right in thinking that, but it's their wallie,
if they want their character to be glowing like the sun
then thats their right.
Sometimes they do it for the certain wall,
it makes a cool style when you think about it <33
