Quote by markjoA fitting title for the submission - she looks like she could break something any minute.

Quote by markjoA Playboy Bunny if you ask me ...

Quote by markjoI think she's just trying out a new set of neko ears...

Thnaks for the comments on my Tsukuyomi Moon Phase scans ^_^

Quote by markjoThough the number of your favourites is almost scary, thank you for appreciating the art...

LOL @ "almost scary"
well... you had pages and pages of pictures for me to choose from so... >_> ...it's not my fault really T_T

you thanked me once, at that moment I was still fav'ing some of them (i was probably half the way through them) LOL no I didn't fav HALF of them all ...there were a lot but...

...i guess I'm an anime freak or something x_x

Quote by markjoNo way! I still have other artbooks to post, like one more Reiko Shimizu artbook, some Mutsumi Inomata's artbooks and others that I cannot name, but the art looks pretty cool to me. Scanning Maten would be a waste of time, especially that your scans are already here.
Speaking about Yoshitaka Amano, thanks a lot for the links you sent me. I really enjoyed them :) .
One more thing - I'm not really sure what you sent me, but I didn't get anything from overseas lately. Still, there are some parcels waiting for me to be picked up from the post office, so maybe soon...?

shame the package got lost in the mail- :( but ill send a little something after i get my job thing straightened out.

Quote by DREAMdo you have more Yoriko Ito artwork?
excellent quality scan- 2400 ppi? yowsers. ^^

Quote by lady markjoBoy, you're good I'd never guess the resolution like that *_*
Unfortunaltely I've got no more Yoriko Ito, but here's something special for U:
http://www.badongo.com/file/1731447
Hope you'll like it!

well i noticed the "specs" in PS. i have never scanned higher than 1200 myself. at the 2mb limit i usually resize to 2000x ---- and save at 10 or 9. i miss the 5mb limit since this allows for a 3000x---- at like a 12 save setting.

have you been experimenting with PS? it's incredible the things, a person can do in that program, not to mention Illustrator. ^^

last month my copy of Coffin: Art of VHD arrived and it was super cheap- only $25. on his site it is $250. ;) i am not sure if that is a signed limited edition or not. i would hope so.. more importantly the volume is massive [rectangular shaped] and contains most if not all of the VHD artwork. today i posted 3 scans in your honor as i know you will love them. the art-book is about roughly 60% color and 40% b&w art. also in the beginning is a VHD story in both english and kanji. in summary if you find the art-book at that price- do not hesitate to buy it.

sadly the link for badongo doesn't work. i keep getting a "servers busy" message. :(
so how's school? are you getting ready for the holidays? any translating during your break?

if i don't talk to you before christmas and new year's- i wish you a very happy holiday in advance. ^^ :)

i am so sorry to hear you are sick :( - i hope you feel better soon. :)

i am glad you got the book lady markjo. consider that an early Christmas book. actually i have a feeling it was a problem with the US postal service. be sure to scope out the dvd i included as well. and feel free to upload some scans eventually - as there are only a handful here.

yes, that is the VHD book i purchased. incredible art-book. ^^
okay i'm going- i hope you feel better & and am happy you received the book.

That's because nageni-kun is an awesome designer XD

Quote by markjoThank you for the favourite on the Yoriko Ito scan - it's not an everyday art, so I appreciate it the more :) .

I really like your scans))) And what more "not an everyday art" your phrase is really suitable)) I'm fond of such things))) So I hope you don't mind if I add you to my watchlist ^_^

Quote by markjoThank you very much for the favourites on my scans!

You're welcome :)

Quote by markjoA new userpage, eh? Yummy.
Cyber City Oedo 808 was one of the first anime I watched and though it didn't rock my world, I found it interesting enough to watch other series, like Sailor Moon, Cats' Eyes or Galaxy Express 999. I still have a great sentiment for the last series...
Though bust as always, I managed to obtain some interesing artbooks, among them Maten - that's my first YA artbook! Yay!
I'm also currently having my eyes set on some golden oldies, like Haruhiko Mikimoto and Mutsumi Inomata. Unfortunately sometimes artbooks lose the eternal battle of 'what to buy' with DVD films...
Take care, Joanna

hello Joanna!

sorry for the ultra-late response. congratulations on your Amano purchase.. Maten is a beautiful artbook. ^^ let me know if you want to upload scans and i will delete most of the ones i posted. :)

actually i am wondering if you received the artbook i sent you a few months back. i included a DVD with that as well. hopefully it didn't get held up in customs or whatever.

how are you doing? enjoying Photoshop? i am currently looking for a job - so things have been quite busy.

i have a little Amano gift you may enjoy:

the first part is an interview and the 2nd are the 3 videos. be sure to watch them in order: 1, 2, 3.

very rare glimpse at the art-god at his Japanese studio. :)

Quote by markjoI was always wondering how all the mighty swords defy the laws of gravity...

Tisk, tisk, (hehe) a true anime fan never asks why or how, become we all know that anime has it's own physical law that are merely a suggestion and completely bendalble to the characters will or needs. (hehe) In other words, imagination rules! (Thank gawd) ^_^

Hello!
Welcome to Minitokyo. I am sure you'll spend here some quality time, just as I am. Be sure to read the support section and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me or any other member here.

Thank you very much for all the comments :) .

Thanks for the welcome.

I know a the scans I commented on were from a while ago, but I still wanted to show my appreciation. It can be quite difficult to find a lot of those in large resolutions, so I'm thankful to find so many of them here.

Anyways, thanks again.

Quote: Thank you for the favourite on 'emerald princess'. Reiko Shimizu, the artist, is one of my favourite due to the androgynous characters in her artworks...

Hey you're welcome! I love her art and since it's difficult to find artbooks from her, I'm glad someone took the time to scan theirs :) BTW I love her manga Kaguya Hime *o*

See ya!

Quote by markjoI'm glad that you like the book, I'm also suprised that you got it so quickly (I thought it would take at least a month for it to get to the USA).
Anyway, looks like I'm going to have more work from now on, so my visits here will be scarce. If you need to contact me, try email, will probably be quicker :).
Take care, Joanna.

hello lady markjo! i've been on Mt a little more than usual and wanted to stop by and say "hello". i suspect you are quite busy and i hope you are well.

side note: it's been real strange; l i have been watching a lot of 80's Yoshiaki Kawajiri anime lately. like Cyber City Oedo 808 & even managed to get my hands on "Goku Midnight Eye". love those cyber-punk dystopian futures.

: leaves red rose:
au revoir

Quote by markjoThis one is definitely for loli-lovers...

Lol, that was what I thought when I saw the scan XD There's another one from the same artbook I couldn't upload (a prepuberscent naked girl- artistically, of course like she was just born or something... Here's the Otohiko Takano image: CLICKY. (approx 3MB) ^^) Methinks he has a bit of a preoccupation with kids.... :x Lol.

As for whether he's the same artist as Saikano, well, I did a google and turns out he's not :3 Shin Takahashi is Saikano's artist ^_^

Thanks so much for all your comments :D

Quote by markjoHola!
Gracias por todos los comentarios, la verdad te lo agradezco.

:DDe nada amiga, al contrario gracias por compartir sus scan, que estes muy bien, ciao. ;)

Quote by markjoNice work conceptually, but I think you could do better with the female character. I'm not an expert, but maybe a texture would help?
Of course you could vector it as well, but then again I suppose it would spoil the 'window' part too much and the feeling would not be the same.

Vectoring definitely would've been the way to go, unfortunately one of the challenge restrictions was no vector, unless it was line art... oh well :3 Thanks for dropping by nonetheless :)

Quote by markjoI will not submit all of the scans to MT as don't find them appropriate for minors / wallable, but I am sending you the link to download as thanks for your support :). Oh, if you want you're welcome to update your Zetsuai submission.
Check your PM.

Thank you very very much for the link and for all the great scans!
I'll update the image. Thank you! You're very nice. :)

Quote by markjoWhoa... I love the effect you managed to create - the vector without clearly defined lines looks pretty interesting.
And I don't think that the background colour should be different, as too much contrast could spoil this warm feeling...

Hello Joanna,
thanks for the comment and favourite. I am happy that you liked my last wallpaper since your opinion is always important to me. :) Have you been away for some time? Well I am happy that you are starting to submit scans again. I hope to hear from you again soon! Take care! ^^

Oh and I wanted to say about the background color of my wallpaper... before I submitted it I have tried so many combinations... and I ended up with this one, it seemed the best to me... yes. :)

Quote by markjoWhen you will have a bit of time, check your email, as I finally thought up of how to thank you for all your uploads.
Btw, I have just acquired a new scanner and I'm learning how to scan, so expect a new, higher quality of my submissions, starting with the Kumiko Higami scans...

hello lady markjo! sorry for taking so long to respond but i just got back online yesterday.
yes of course; i shall read your email first thing. :)

re: scans- i just uploaded a few myself.

what software do you use for your scanning?

how I scan:
i directly IMPORT my scans into Photoshop. this allows for greater quailty. i handle all cropping and resizing there. only resize a scan once.

i scan at 1200 ppi [300 or 600 is acceptable] reduce the size from 10200x14000 to about 2000x____

save at high: usually around 10 or 11 [Photoshop saves up to 12]. i take advantage of Mt's 5mb limit.

i keep the scan raw [don't use filters]. makes extracting easier.

btw- i am working on a scan of yours that i hope to finish this weekend.
a bientot lady markjo

hello Joanna! i just got home from some shopping and opened your present. thank you so much- i haven't seen that book anywhere. i really hope you have another copy for yourself. i feel the same way about sharing with others whom share a similar interest; even if you haven't meet in "real" life. i am just "blown away" that you did that - really happy. :) the book has some artwork from the Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust movie whcih i loved. i was fortunate to see the film in a theater in Philadelphia, PA a few years ago. actually i am going to play that in my pc right now. ^^

be sure to scope out those Amano scans i have submitted recently. i love to hear your feedback and opinion.
i hope everything is going well for you. :)

Thank you very much for the favs on my FMA submissions - glad you liked them!

You're welcome! ^_^
Thanks again for sharing them!

Dzieki za komentarz - mnie tez pewne elementy prac tej artystki przypominaja poludniowoamerykanskich malarzy, zwlaszcza Fride Kahlo.
Jesli zas chodzi o moje nawyki czytelnicze to ostatnio interesuja mnie wyciagi z konta - mam urlop w przyszlym tygodniu i musze wyskrobac nieco kasy...

Zycze milego wypoczynku zatem XD
