Well... you don't necessarily have to use more textures or filters unless you want to. For that wall specifically, because it's simple, some other things need to be taken into consideration, like balance, composition, etc. It didn't need textures or filters per se, just more refinement on the things you added to make it really good, IMO anyways :P
