wanted to add some other text or even change the kanji, just my opinion.
For the background, i would use a nice stock photo, maybe a snowy photo would
fit tha scan (you can check some photos from http://www.sxc.hu/) and a tutorial to make the
stock photo fit your scan http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/1930/stocktopaintti5.jpg
I don't make many scenic walls, it's not my style but hope that helps you.

Hi! If you want to remove words (or any unwanted stuff) in your scan, you have
to use the clone tool. Here's one tutorial about clone stamping. I hope it will
help you.

The PHOTO option is for a real photograph of yourself. You already have an
avatar, so you do not need another cartoon character to represent you. Remove it
before you get an official warning for breaking the rules.

There's currently a problem with the delete
feature so for the time being you can replace it with an image of a 1 pixel
sized dot. That is working for some people... or you could replace it with a
real photo of yourself.
