Hows everything? I've been gone for a while( wnet to Canada). Hows the Bible,
converted yet? Talk to you later.
Shinsen89
Hey, thanks for the message. I'm becoming more and more convinced about how
ridiculous and utterly boring the bible is (I'm on the Book of Numbers, by the
way).
I almost can't believe I didn't fall asleep trying to read Leviticus (I think
the only reason is that I was eating at the same time...=P)
And Yahweh is officially the worst character in any story..
Quote by Shinsengumi89Hello
plunkies, just stopped by to say that you debate well in the religous forum, but
also to warn you that debating with persocom is a never ending battle. But i'm
sure you already know that.
Shinsen89( Mt-Atheists Group Admin. )
* i would like to invite you to Mt-Atheists, and it would be good to add you for
i'm sure more disscusion would insue.
I think if you've read many of my debates with him he always has the last word.
I'm rather disappointed that you support his style of debate. You seem to be a
fairly reasonable person yourself yet you support a style of argument that is
both rude and often employs logical fallacies and bigoted assertions all the
time. I sense that you employ special pleading (otherwise known as a double
standard) http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/special-pleading.html
in your attitude towards both of us.
Quote by Shinsengumi89Thanks for
commenting on my thread on who is kinder the Devil or God. I bet Reading the
bible is fun, i did it once.
Shinsen89
My pleasure. The Bible isn't even as entertaining as I expected it to be, but
that's probably just because it was written so long ago. Now that you mention
it, I'm curious: were you ever raised Christian, or was/is your family
Christian? Or did you just read it for fun/knowledge like I am?
Quote by Shinsengumi89 i will try
to give more educated respones in the future and will strive to be a better MT
Citzen.
To be honest, you are one of the forumgoers I had in
mind when I was searching for words to use in describing the average forumgoer.
In my personal opinion, it would be better for the forum as a whole if you did
not try to give more of your educated responses, because for the most part your
"educated responses" (while they may be earnest attempts on your part)
are either entirely wrong or entirely worthless.
Here is a recent case in point:
Quote by Shinsengumi89Well as long
as we have a conservative adminastration in power, the Israelis will always get
backed by the US and the Peace talks will always fail.
I
don't know where to begin. In such a short post, you are already so wrong on so
many counts. To name a few, Democratic administrations have been at least as
supportive as Republican administrations of Israel. After all, the Jewish
community plays a significant role in domestic politics, and there are many
influential Jews in government and society who are Democrats, Senator Lieberman
being just one of them.
Furthermore, historically the United States has been one of the brokers of the
peace. If it were not for the United States, the situation in the Middle East
would be far worse. On one hand, it backs the right of Israel to defend itself,
but it also keeps Israel on a leash to prevent it from destabilizing the region.
On the other hand, it works to cut off logistical support for terrorist
organizations and to place diplomatic pressure against countries that sponsor
them.
I could go on and on, but I have to get ready for work, and so I'll leave you
with one final thought to consider.
Oftentimes, ignorant people think that they are much more intelligent than they
realy are. Professor Dunning from Corenll University made a landmark study in
1999 that showed that incompetent people have an inflated sense of their own
ability, because competence is itself a requirement to recognize competence.
Good day.

First, I would like to thank you for your extremely level-headed response to the
pointed remarks I left in your guestbook a little over a day ago. While those
remarks do reflect my true sentiments, they were certainly untoward and unfair
to you, and therefore I have to commend you for being so responsible in handling
the issue. In that respect, you are certainly a better person than I
am.
I have not been particularly civil to you since you joined this community, and
you noted the reason why in the postscript of your message to me. To be honest,
there are many others who I find more aggravating, but the unfortunate
similarity between our usernames has always made your comments stand out
whenever I browse through the forums. This does not excuse my discourtesy, but I
just wanted to let you know why it seems as if I have been (somewhat unfairly)
singling you out.
In retrospect, I should not have let my emotions override my reason, but as I
generally do not believe in depublishing, I will not pretend that I did not
suffer a lapse in judgement and will therefore allow my petulance to stand side
by side with this explanation and apology.
When I was a moderator, I often reprimanded established members who were guilty
of elitist snobbery towards newer members. Now I find myself guilty of the same
fault, and as such I will take care to conduct myself with greater civility and
exercise greater tolerance towards you and other members in the future.
Hey thanks for showing me the web site thats so nice of you! I thought it was
really good too very much interesting. Have a good day and thanks for your time!
Bye ^__^
Thanks for participating in my thread about household guns I do have
to agree that the idea of guns in every house is a scary thought...maybe I'm
just a little paranoid like a lot of people. I don't think guns are totally bad,
though...just if they're misused. Unfortunately, they're misused more often than
not, making them terrible tools. I guess if it's anyone for anyone to really
shoot, it'd be the guy who invented them some ages ago
Pleased to hear from you this evening ! Thanxs for sharing the thread. I am glad
there are individuals who will not allow them selves to believe in the "If
U are not with us, then U are against us" conspiricy" created not just
by President Bush, but by other people who have VERY hidden agendas who goal is
to help themselves to grater power and destroy the America that most real
Americans love and appreciate.
I hope my responses don't P*** off any readers or moderators when I present my
views on a topic. I want to focus on the topic, not "slam" or hurt any
one. If I have, nothing personal, I just want to throw my "2 cents worth
!"
To answer your question concerning the Democrats, that is a real "toss up
!" Personnally, I like Hillary Clinton, ohhh ! She would be a real
"thorn in the ass" of the Republican party. Look at this way, it would
get Bill Clinton back in the White House ! Go Bill !
I am not very impressed w/ John Kerry, too "wishy washy !"
John Lieberman, I like him, he seems like an honest person. As Mel Brooks had
said in the movie "BLAZING SADDLES" movie when Harvey Korman (who
played as "Sherriff Hedlay" who suggested that all the first born male
children be disposed of.
Mel Brooks, who played the mayor, said " Too Jewish !"
I loved watching the movie, very fuuny and personnally my Mel Brook FAV
!
Unless the Democrats can pull out an "Extremely charismatic man/
woman" who can wow the crowds and offer some real solutions to deal w/ the
issues that are true to our heart/ soul and who can stand up to the tyranny of
the "Usrper" G.W. Bush who is part of the Texas Mafia.
Snell ! Snell ! Snell !

anyways, thanx for answering to my thread (i hope it helps people choose better
presents), have a nice day and life!
P.S.: did you go to NY? or when are you going?
Thx lol for the support, I am thinking is time the religion forum in MT gets
abit creative instead of asking for support about outside ideas... I juz hope
ppl can think more on their own and don't lose the grasp for creativity and

had an interesting theory though i disagree with it, my compliments on the idea.
Also i see you try to debate persecom1, don't, hes a radical evagelical
christian( no offense) so he literally belive that the human thumb is proof of
gods existance, so when debating him don't expext to get a logical or "
fair" argument. But again good thread(If God is smart.).

Glad you like my "reply" to your thread. I was listening to some
assorted Irish and Scottish music. Too bad I was not drinking some Irish ale or
some Scottish whiskey. If I was drinking some, who knows what my "Irish Wit

I am glad that there is a place to post my thoughts in an intelligent way w/o (I
hope not offending anyone for voicing my thoughts).
One must understand that there are some politicians, businessmen and women,
bankers and even military personnel who hold "posts of power" who are
keeping the average person (man/ women) from advancing up the ladder of success.
Thanxs for sharing your thoughts and of course, asking your readers to share
