I'll let my current two fav authors Ursula K. Le Guin and Frank Herbert speak
for myself: True voyage is return. We go forward, we come back.
markjo! 'Just dropping by here to say hi and well, how are you? ^^ Still
teaching, and hopefully enjoying a good read? You should read Gifts, by the way... lovely book in my
opinion, and nicely saying stuff about power and how sometimes one without power
is power-in-itself. Anyway, me? After almost a year of leaving MT (partly I have
to blame DC's wall on 'Select Your Choice', lol, but no, I am actually very
thankful for him for the wall, since it reminded me of some things I used to do
that I could still do and I could still effect change someplace here, and yes,
vague, but really the wall empowered and inspired me and all to go back in the
real world and yes! I actually did some teaching too, with some kids in my home
province the past year, where I spent most of the time helping out the folks
there with their community garden and other problems they're having there like
about some land 'developers' are coaxing some farmers there to sell their land
and then the land will be host to spanking new subdivisions (which no one in our
province could afford anyway)) But long sentence!
'Hope that you're doing fine, and any book thing you could recommend to me or
anything on your mind you wish to share, I'm happy to receive news from you! ^_^
Quote by markjoLong time no see, eh?
Glad to see you here again - not that I'm a frequent user lately as well...
Anyway, I assume you have holidays - how about your exams? Did you get all As?
Or maybe you are forced to study in the summertime?
Btw, the heatwave is killing me. Do you also have it in
Germany?
Hello Joanna,
nice to read some lines of you again. Yes, lately I have not been a frequent
user anymore... I was too busy with other things happening in my life, starting
with exams to relationship...
Yes, our holidays started July 1st, but I am still busy writing some things. In
my studies, German and media communications, we most times have to write long
papers of 18 to 30 pages or more. I think this is so much more work than
learning for some exams... and I still have some of them to write so I will have
some work during all my holidays, but sure I do have some time so it's not that
stressful with most of these papers.
I'm currently in Austria, the heatwave is killing me too. And the window of my
room shows into the East so the heat stays in my room till the sun goes down.
Luckily, here in Austria (I live at the border to Italy and Slovenia) it gets
cooler in the night than it does in Bavaria where my parents are living. On
Sunday I'll leave to Germany though and one week later I'll go to Berlin
together with my parents for holiday. They are very happy that I am eager to
come with them, unlike my sister.
What are you going to do during your university-free time?
Unfortunately next week I must also send my laptop to be repaired, I am trying
to get it fixed while I am in Berlin but this means there is certainly going to
be about 2 weeks that I cannot come here at all. The hard drives of laptops are
unfortunately not very reliable. I already had to get it fixed with my old
laptop. *sigh*
Anyways, I hope to find back to my "normal" day life soon, when I was
able to come here every night at least, to write some lines or just too look at
scanned artwork or wallpapers.
Quote by markjoI love My Neighbor Totoro
anime!
That's a great choice of colours (green is my favourite ) -
very soothing for the eyes. As usually, flawless vector and a great design.
A fav from me - it goes to my desktop immediately.
Quote by markjoA flawless vector with a
soothing choice of colours - just wish the text was more visible or there was no
text at all.
Still, a great work that is going to be my new desktop.
Yay, thanks so much for the comment and fav on "Serenity"! Oh, and I
updated it so now the font is at the original opacity, and if you'd like a
textless version:
Hope it's alright
Thanks again and see you around!
Quote by markjoHello again!
Thank you very much for the favourites on my Mutsumi Inomata scans.
As she's one of my favourite artists, I'm especially glad when her art is
appreciated.
Hi! No problem on the favs, I really like them! Yeah I really like her work too!
I hope you have a great week!
Quote by markjoI have added you to my
watchlist, just to make sure not to miss anymore of your great wallpapers. I
wonder why haven't I done it before
? Shame on me...
Thanks so much for the thoughtful comments and the watch... I'm really flattered
I'm going to return watch too, I love your scans
Quote by markjoI just discovered the
'Retrospective Project' and found out that you decided to write about
DernierCri. Since he was the first person I also thought about, if you want, I
can lend you a hand or at least become your first
critic...
hello lady markjo! i stopped by here to relay the email i sent you a few days
ago; as im not sure you received it.
i believe you also mentioned another artist. could you please tell me who it
is?
i still plan on writing about the "GrungePriest" in a few weeks when i
am able. my sister, Sarah died in Africa on a vacation 3 weeks ago and i am
unable to focus correctly
on anything art or life-related..
But if you want to write the essay now then i would be more than willing to help
you myself.
You have an excellent insight when it comes to art and that is rare- that's why
i would love to see you "create" some artworks yourself. ^^
I hope that makes sense; DC is a good friend and mentor of sorts- so i want to
do the best job I can and welcome your support.
i hope you are well and i hope to talk to you soon..
Quote by markjoNice association - Relena
and Padme in one!
Glad to see you haven't stopped drawing - your works are getting better and
better every time, so keep on drawing them!
Btw, I really like the dress...
Hello, friend! How are you?
Thanks for dropping by and posting in my new doujin! I'm glad you liked it!
I'll keep drawing, you can be certain of that! Soon I'll be adding new drawings
to MT!
Thanks for the support!
Have a nice week!
Hello there, markjo! ^-^ It's nice to know you think some of my comments are
"interesting" I
really appreciate that. It's just that I personally prefer to comment on
people's uploads rather than fave since it seems more personal and a lot kinder
(or at least I prefer comments for faves ) Seeing
as you've been periodically submitting these beautiful FMA artbook scans, I just
HAD to comment on them whenever I could I don't
know if you know this, but you're really helping me evaluate the artbook---now I
really, really want it! Your
scans are just so tempting that I want the real thing (even if it means I pay
$20-$30 for what I see you upload...but on glossy paper ) Thanks
so much for sharing those awesome scans!
hello lady markjo! i listened to the Spawn soundtrack and love it. it has been
years since i last saw that film- well the graphic novel was a lot better. i
read that like 10- yeara ago.
have you seen "Sin City"? i am a huge Frank Miller fan [Daredevil and
Electra are my favourite works of his]and was elated to see his black &
white comic done justice.. 300 looks awesome as well..
thanks for your comments on the "Poem" Amano-sama scans. strangely as
you may or may not know; a few were deleted for not having "enough
colors".. anyhow i shall provide a link [just in case you haven't seen
them] POEM . Yes, that is a
different style then his usual artwork.
re: Clover: I will confess i love Clamp's artwork especially on Oruha and Suu. I
enjoyed the manga [from what i have read] but X is the strongest in story. You
don't like the story of "Clover"? Outside of Clover, X and Tokyo
Babylon i don't care for Clamp's artwork..
ah yes, my current "project" is one of your scans from a while ago.. i
love your scans and hope the FMA scans are almost done. jk ^^ haha
have you seen DernierCri's lastest interpretation of NuclearSeasons?
Quote by markjoA great entry for the
contest - the colour and quality of the wallpaper (the paint-like texture or
whatever that is) reminds me lot of Kei Toume's art.
Plus, the poem sounds so familiar, I think I've read it during my studies at uni
.
Thanks for the comment and the fav
Honored that it reminds you of Kei Toume
The poem is "Death be not proud, though some have called thee" by John
Donne...definitely a university classic
Thanks for the comments on my scnas ^_^
