Quote by RegenbogenHello kashikosa,
thanks for the fav on my new wallpaper "Garden of Eden". :) I am happy that you like it.
How are you doing? I am quite busy with university... even though it's still Easter holiday till Monday. But well there is always work to do.
I hope you can enjoy your weekend! (^_^)/~~

Hi Regenbogen!
I am doing terrible! I'm working very hard at school and I've got only 12 days left until I start my tests to get to University... That means A WHOLE MONTH OF TESTS on History, French, English, Polish... I'm in a state of hysteria and am franticwith worry whether I'll pass or not...
I want so badly to go to my University... (I'm applying for the Japanese Language Science...)
Hope you're doing better :)
See you!

Quote by RegenbogenHello flyin,

thank you very much for the comment! I feel happy that you like my wallpaper. :)
I commented on your Range Murata wall on AP because I love the widescreen version a lot. Unfortunately I don't have a widescreen... but it simply looks WOW in this format.
Hope to see you around and thank you for always taking the time to comment on my submissions. (^_^)/~~

No probs, I enjoy it :D And thanks for the thoughtful comment on AP (always nice to read, whether here or there XD). Yes, I definitely learned lots, and I'm glad you found the tutorial/descrip helpful :) I'm sad that I couldn't make 1600x1200 version look as good... ;_; oh well. Keep up the good work... I liked how your last wall had so much style!

P.S. It got voted into Simple-ism's featured gallery... I dunno if you saw it yet :)

Oh ich seh grad, dass du aus Deutschland bist! :) Ich wohne im Moment zwar in Oesterreich, bin aber in Deutschland geboren. Also, liebe Gruesse nach Deutschland.

Quote by kuroimisaI really like the simplicity of all this, and everything goes nicely- the patterned wavey background and the flowers to the curves of the scan- everything is nicely harmonised :D One thing I didn't like was the white outer glow ;) Mainly on the red part of the wall though because you could have seen the flowers without the glow (on the black it was obvious you would have needed it :P) But oh how refreshing X-P

Hello Misa,
I am dropping by to thank you for the comment and fav on my new wallpaper. I understand your criticism about the outer glow on the red part... but I had to outer glow it. *lol* Maybe I am already thinking too much about the trendwhore theme. ;) It looked more glowing with the outer glow... and that's what I wanted. Oh well maybe it's a side effect of starting to look more carefully on trendwhore wallpapers. (I am spending too much time at the computer and I actually have to do work for university... but you know, Mozilla Firefox is only one click away... and it is so hard to resist! Even though I am actually close to heart attack with my work... but I won't write details here. You got enough of these kind of thoughts on your own.)

What I must also say about trendwhore wallpapers... it will be difficult because some of them, the better ones, show good quality in making grass and trees and clouds... and I realise that I have never done any of this. How much time do I have for the trendwhore entry? *lol* It seems to me I have some things to learn before I can even start! ;)

Did some people ask you for your comment service? :) It's a good idea I think for UA in general.

Oh well I should better return to my work!

See you around and take care. I hope university isn't too stressful!

Lol~~ I think it's just a personal matter of taste at the same time. I'm just too used to seeing outer glows used to hide extraction problems (and when I started walling I did that too ^_^')- I completely understand it was more of a compositional/ aesthetic thing, but usually they make the quality go down a bit and make people wonder if there are many mistakes being covered up (there were none in your wall though ;)). Either way, I still enjoyed it, so glow or no glow, is cool (n_n)b

The trendwhore theme has no time limit- it's until when everyone's submitted their entries in XD Usually there should be no time limit on making a wallpaper- ever- so hopefully that gives you a bit of time to think it through :)
Hehe and the clouds and the grass thing-- I think it's just a matter of style. To me, there are firstly two types of trendwhore regardless of scan - the over saturated one with high contrast (eg. saturated purple with contrast to white), and the overly white less contrasted one (lots of use of pastel- hence mist etc). Most of the clouds and grass you see on trendwhores are actually just brushes. Photoshop 7 has a default grass brush that randomises the grass lengths and angles for you- so it's just trial and error with that. For the clouds, they are also brushes (or stocks sometimes)- the underside is always darker than the top part, and sometimes they have a bit of tinted colour or something like that lol. Hopefully that made some sense X-P Oh and last note about trees, if you see on the left menu right at the bottom with the Partners and Links thingy, there's a link "Imanimetions" - I don't know if you've been there yet, but they have a standard .zip of trees- the most popular trees I have seen in walls because EVERYONE uses imanimetion trees XD You might want to have a look at those brushes too ^.^

Well, sadly, nobody has asked me for any critiquing services~ but I guess it's okay ;) I do hope that other people will take up the "critiquing challenge" and put it up on their page as well... so maybe it might stay as a permanent thing *_* XD

You take care too~~ University is okay at the moment... I have a few more days of holidays left... but still there is work to do -_-' Lol~~ Ciao ^_^V

I like the concept you chose for the wallpaper. I don't think the character would of gone good in any other environment. She blends in really good. You also did a great job of extracting her. XD

Also, hope you don't mind me adding you to my WL. Wouldn't want to miss any other work you submit. ;)

Take care and hope to see you around. :)

Quote by RegenbogenHello Smilebit,

I am dropping by to thank you for the fav on "Garden of Eden". Your opinion is always important to me! :) You don't seem to be around here so often anymore... I saw your name among those who participated in Arete. I didn't find time and energy... but it seems Omni is absent. I am curious for the results too... well I guess there is no other choice but to wait!
Hope to see you around... and I am looking forward to your future submissions!

indeed i haven't posted any art for awhile, i guess i'm just sort of spent on school. i'm taking a class titled visual continuity and it is to say the least rather demanding., which unfortunately i'm feeling rather uninspired right now, i blame it on the week off, i always have difficulty getting back into the swing of things after breaks. but enough of that. now to comment properly on your wall.

i absolutely love the colors, that and had empty and simple it is. that is why i was drawn to this. a lovely simple vector, though rough in areas of the girl's body is done quite well. everything really works together rather well, except the blur around the branches and black area under the blanket. it just isn't as strong as the other areas, as on the girl it really brings out a softness in her skin and hair, and the blanket as well. i like how you chose to just color her and the background, which the pattern oddly fits. i guess the major funk i have is that the blur is too strong. it doesn't blend the way it should with the flat background. but yeah. blast that omni, put on a contest of sorts and then just disappear. rather inconvenient eh? well cheers. i'll try to post something today.

Quote by RegenbogenThanks a lot for the fav and the comment for my wallpaper "Crossing". I didn't know Death Note when I made the wallpaper, I was only looking for a scan that could work for the Gothic theme. And as you said, yes, I didn't like the colors too much so I made some changes. The dress meant some work... but especially all these rings were exhausting. Anyways I was happy with the result so... it was fun to vector it in the end.

My wallpaper has just been added to the elite gallery... I guess, thanks to Kuroimisa who is now an Elite member! ^^
I am happy that you like it and thanks for the comment! I always like to read what people think about my wallpapers.
*waves* Hope to see you around! (^_^)/~~

I don't know a thing about Death Note either ^_^' but with your wall and the original scan I've gotten interested ;) so it's your fault :nya:

Now that I look into it... the rings do seem more detailed *sigh* whish I was any good at vectoring :hmpf: or more like I knew at least something about it. I do know when something is done nice though ;)

Glad to see Kuroimisa added your wall to the elite gallery, with her help I have the feeling that the gallery will be great.

Anywyas, gotta run... thanks for dropping by, I'll be seeing you around... take care!

Quote by RegenbogenSalut DREAM...
I just wanted to finally download one of your recent Amano scans "Every rose has its thorn" ... and it was gone! Hmm why did they delete one of your great scans? My internet connection sometimes is really slow so that I wait for better days to download scans. Oh well... I just wonder why they deleted this one! It's a total riddle to me and I still wanted to have this scan! >_<
Apart from that, I hope you're doing well. You're changing your avatars so often at the moment! Does this have a reason? I need a better one too... I am just a bit lazy for these things. :D

Salut Lady Regenbogen!
here's a little GIFT.
just save them in a folder. if you need a bigger version let me know, and i can email you them. ;)

I re-uploaded the GE scan. see here: Prayer for the Dead by DREAM
tell me what you think. :)

Ah yes; i uploaded 2 more Galaxy Express scans. :)

Hello Misa! ^^
Thanks for your comment even though you have so much work at university.

Yes, I am definitely enjoying Fushigi Yugi... I am laughing so much when I am watching it... and at the moment that's what i want... not some depressing story. Sometimes you just have to choose the cheerful stuff because I tend to be a little melancholic. ;)

Hmm oh well... about work... you know I DO have lots of work. But I must try to not stress that much about it because it is only slowing you down. It might work for a while to stress and still continue your work but sooner or later it is going to fall down on you. And then you are so exhausted that you're just unable to do anything. At least that's what happened to me. So I am trying to work and at the same time enjoy myself with different things... like... uhhh... Fushigi Yugi for example! ^^ So please no heart attacks!
I could write such a long list to you Misa, about all the things that I must do. It's awful. I found out there's always work so... yeah I just do as much as I can do... which is not that much at the moment considering all the distractions around me! ;)

So make sure to always have some free time... far far far away from university! ;)

See you soon! *waves*

Lol of course :3 We all are busy people XD;; I kinda probably learnt like how you did not to stress about work. I got distressed because I was so frustrated not knowing what was expected of me, and how the exact marking guidelines worked... and I ended up doing very well so that was a nice surprise XD;; *heart attack comes and then subsides* XP

Hehe Fushigi Yuugi is quite good as an anime if you don't think about it ;) If you think about it too much and start to deconstruct it, you'll probably realise it's not as fun XD Whee for Fushigi Yuugi! Lol.

I hope that I'm not one of the distractions around hahah >.< I probably bludge more than you do T_T

I'm goign to just crawl away now :P Hopefully after this year I'll have that huge 3-4 month break again and let all hell loose <3 ^^

Quote by RegenbogenHello I just wanted to drop by and leave you a message... Are you still here at MT... hmm it says your last visit was about a week ago... so you should still be around. I was quite busy, oh actually I am always busy. *lol* So I don't have so much time for wallpapers. And yes, I sort of want to make my own stuff now, rather than using scans.
And what have you been doing? I'd be happy to read you again! ;)

Yeppers Im still here! :D Yay! I havent been on here for a while cuz my doofus of a brother spiced the cable cords and...well...it was a bit messy. Got fired from my job LOL! IM BAD *smacks self* I know the alwasy busy feeling there are three hellacious children in this house, theres never a dull moment. Id really like to see a Regenbogen orginal! :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :) Keep cool!

Quote by RegenbogenCongrats on your promotion Misa! ^^ I can't see any images but at least I can still read letters! :) I am not online too much at the moment... we have Easter vacation and my parents are here... and I am stuck watching Fushigi Yugi! But apparently MT never sleeps... always when I am absent a little there are news when I return. So congratulations again... I think you really deserve it! *leaves a huge bag of cookies for Misa*... ^_^ See you around! I hope you have vacation too! :D

hiya Regenbogen ^^/ Thanks muchly for dropping by :D
Lol, I hope you're enjoying Fushigi Yugi ^^ As long as you can watch it without being cynical, you should enjoy it XD I hope you can drop by every now and then anyway- and it's good to hear you are on vacation ^^!
Well, I will be on vacation soon, but I won't really have much of a vacation ._. We got another assignment and a whole block of other things to hand in after the break >.< I got a heart attack today though because our first assignment (on history and theory) was pinned up on the wall in order of merit! And I was shocked to see my one up there first T_T I almost thought he ordered them backwards :\ (and I hate history T_T)
Thanks so much and I hope you have fun during the holidays :D Make the most out of them and hopefully we'll see some more art from you ;) Just try not to be like me and have too much stuff to do >.<
*munches on the cookies* Hehe *passes over some cakes*
Enjoy :D

Quote by RegenbogenI love the atmosphere... Do you know who drew it? The green colors make it looks quite dark... and i like the character as well! Thanks for submitting this!

Thanks for the fave (and the others as well :) ). The whole problem with the artbook is that I have no idea who drew most of the art as well as which category they belong to. But I like some of the images...

Quote by RegenbogenHello Smilebit,

thank you very much for the comment and fav on "Memories"... I am happy that you like something I have done because I always admire your art. :) People are talking about cell shading here... I must admit I just try around with Photoshop and Illustrator. I have no theoretical knowledge... so "Cell-shading" I heard that for the first time when you and Misa wrote about it. And I am actually not sure what you mean... ;) Cell-shading is exclusive to 3-dimensional modeling? Hmm... *confused*
Well I will try to find out more! ;) Thanks again and I am looking forward to your next submissions!

to illustrate what i said. cell-shading is a type of non-photorealistic rendering that is designed to make computer graphics look hand-drawn. it is used often in 3d modeling and animation of mimic that of comic books. cheers eh? and you're very much welcome for the comment and the fav. they were deserved.

You havea green userpage... that is rather unusual here on MT... at least I cannot remember too many green ones. But it looks refreshing! ;)
I hope to see you around!

Glad to be of some help...nice job with the edits...keep up the good work :)

Quote by RegenbogenHello Misa,

thank you very much for your comment and the fav on my wallpaper. I am actually not that happy with it, as I have already written. I want to find new ways... new techniques... But I am not sure maybe this is all I can do! *sigh*

Apart from that there is no real news from me. And I am tired. -_- Just wanted to write thank you, after all you were the one who taught me how to use the pen tool. :) I will never forget that! *lol*

And spring is finally here... wohoooooooo! I love it so much! The only thing that sucks is that I have university this weekend on friday and saturday from 9am to 6pm. And I must even give a presentation... when there is spring weather outside! And a new shopping center opened today. With shops on three floors... wohoooooo... *lol* This Austrian "city" really needed something like that! *lol*

Yeah I think what I am doing now is called spamming! ;) I hope to see you around! and Thanks again!

Hi Regenbogen :) Nice to hear from you!
I'm starting to understand Uni and the work eehhehe >_<

I know how you feel about the whole technique thing. I feel as though I should be doing more instead of just "tracing over" something. Although I try to manipulate the original as far as I can go (changing colours, adding things, changing things or omitting things) I feel as if I'm not doing quite enough :\ Unfortunately it's like that in digital art... if it's not vectors, it's extraction... and with extraction comes brush work. If not brush work, filter work. Never fear, we're all in the same position some what, and some day we'll stumble across something we'd be interested in how it was made :)

Oooh spring! And a shopping centre! Wow! :o
That must be so cool! That's great :D
9am to 6pm *eeks* I have 9-5 days... and they are bad :\ and on the weekend too ~~ well, luck on the presentation! Once thing I realised about uni is how quickly time passes :D You go there, sit for the lectures, eat/hang out with friends, and then more lectures- and you go home and it's already time for dinner lol. Hopefully the time passed is enjoyable- and if so, then being busy isn't so bad :)
*wants a shopping center in her 'town'*
We did have one... it was only one floor. It had a florist, a shoe repairer guy who cut keys, a fruit market, a cafe and a supermarket with upmarked prices. Now it's being developed on and I must say that the design is very funky. It has bold colours (red grey white) and there are lots of windows for good ventilation and sunlight. Not only that, they aren't really square- the corners come at a more acute angle and that's a comment on style ;)

Anyway, I'll end here :P *throws flowers around for spring*
We haven't even seen the slightest weather change for autumn yet and it's already the end of March :( I want to dig out my jumpers and stuff for the weather XD

oops I'm spamming~~~ *runs*

Quote by RegenbogenHello! Thanks for the fav and the comment on my wallpaper "Crossing". And you even know 2046... not too many people know this movie. Did you actually like it? I think they could have shown a litte bit more of the futuristic 2046... But i really loved the atmosphere and the characters... I like all the actresses as well... but I am a fan of chinese cinema in general... well thanks again and hope to see you around!

hi!
well... i liked 2046, but i think it was i little bit 'too-slow' and that make it fell long...
Yes, the chara were cool, and i mean with this, special....-
well, hope u are fine!
