It's already winter there on France, ne? I guess you're really busy there preparing for Christmas? ^_^'

Quote by missy1066Hello there TenX, this is a very nice picture and I love the subtle colours and delicate black outline work you've used on her :) the colours contrast nicely with the depth of colour you've used for her eyes etc you've made her eyes so bold that they are definitely the focal point of this picture and you can just imagine her looking at the tree the flowers are on :) you've done an excellent job on her facial features :) the only thing that strikes me as not looking quite right are the lines you've used in her neck... the Adams apple is way too prominent ^_^' the left side of her neck just looks plain wrong with that lump protruding out of it! And she looks too young to warrant those two other lines you've used on her neck :D on the whole I think this is picture is an excellent piece of work on your part especially seeing as it's your first one with regards to the tools you used to do it :) I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future ;)

hey there missy1066 ^^ how are u?
sorry for the long time to reply... im really lazy.. xD
well.... thanks a lot for ur coment ^^
about her neck... well.. its cause its suposed to be a he.. not a she xD.. but.. anyway.. ur right that he looks to young to hav his nerves so pulled up.. ^^... i hav this thing of doing the nerves and the adams apple big on boys xD

anyway... im really glad u liked my drawing... and sorry for take so long to reply you.. ^^

Quote by missy1066Hello there Ayane, don't feel bad about not having had the time to drop by, as for myself, I haven't stopped by there in ages! I should try and stop by there myself a bit more often... you've obviously stopped by there more recently than I have because I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to I'm afraid... perhaps I ought to go and check out the old posts because it must be something rather unpleasant to cause you to feel this way :( as for your school fees, I hope you manage to get everything sorted on that score ;) :) take care of yourself and I hope you're enjoying your summer so far... talk to you again soon...

sis-missy!~ ;___; haiz!~ old le.. old le.. we seldom have the time to login that mux or chat that mux now... the older we are.. the busier we are.. i hope we can go back to the times that we spam at the thread and got lotsa time to chat with each other.. :D How can we have so mux time to do such things? *confused* XD of course you shouldn't force yourself too mux too.. if you are really busy, you should do ur stuffs and get more rest whenever you got the time.. it's beri important oh! hmm.. don't worry.. don't worry.. nothing really nig happen in yamamori that caused me to leave there.. even though i didn't go back.. But i still regard all of you as my seniors as sista.. <333 *muakz* wha!~ school feessssss!~ they are killing me.. they are deducting $1000 every month from my bank.. x_x *heart aches* actually we can pay $100/mth.. But that will take me 4eva to finish paying and the longer you owe them.. the higher the interest.. i might as well pay them $1000/mth so that all this deducting will stop appearing in my bank.. *eats grass* ayane is sho poor to even buy food to eat.. XD *begs for food ont he streets* sis-missy.. wanna adopt me? XD *meows* lolz!~ it's rally latex now.. i gtg now.. hope to talk you again.. Mata ne!~ *waves*

Hello there friend! It's been quite a while since we last talked, ne? How's life? Well... I'm doing good as of this moment, just gettin more and more busy with school these days. Midterm Exam's just finished and we're back to our old works again... projects, reports, etc.

Hope to hear from you soon! :)

Quote by missy1066Hello again Akaiken :) it's always a pleasure to talk to you my friend :) life is treating me very well indeed at the moment and I'm very happy to hear that things are going well for you too! Hope your exams went to well for you and I hope you continue to take everything in your stride :D it sounds as if your life is extremely busy with very little room left outside of your studies for you to play about with etc... well, take care of yourself Akaiken, all the best for tomorrow my friend and bye for now :)

Yeah... school's bustin' me out and we have to be ready in the coming future. It's already my 3rd year on college so I have to be more serious and careful with what I'm doing or I'll regret it in the end. Well... hope for me to get on all the obstacles of school! XD

Thanks and take care too my friend! ^_^V

Hmm... I just used that skin and to me the compose box looks like black text on a grey background, but it still contrasts just fine- perhaps are you using an old monitor? Or maybe your contrast on your monitor is set low?

Quote by missy1066Hello there, I wonder if you can help me, I just made a post in one of the forums (a one word game one in the chat room) but I couldn't see the word as it was the same colour as the background but yet when I pressed the submit post button I could read the word I had written in the reply box quite clearly. When I typed this message to you I could see what I had written quite clearly in the reply box. I had thought that this error had something to do with the fact that I use a voice recognition system as I usually copy and paste my text into the reply box but this seems to make no difference as the same thing happens when I use the keyboard itself to type into the box directly. I tried to reply to a personal message I had received only to find that when I pressed the reply button, the recipient, subject and compose private message boxes were all completely blank and when I tried to write in the private message box, you can't see anything coming up as the font colour is the same colour as the background... is this some sort of glitch or does it have to do with the userskin I decided to use perhaps... I would appreciate it if you could shed some light on this problem for me, thanks

merged: 09-01-2006 ~ 10:01am
Well, I went back to one of my private messages and despite not being able to see anything, I copied and pasted my reply in the compose message box and although I didn't see anything, when I clicked on the preview PM button my message showed up as normal along with all of the previous replies for that particular private message... I hope this problem gets resolved soon or am I the only one experiencing this problem?

The member made skin that I was using at the time was X.: the Divine sword. I have now gone back to using the default skin for the time being...

Quote by missy1066Thanks for getting back to me Akaiken :) I hope you've had a good week so far in your neck of the woods so to speak ;) I don't think I had any favourite subjects at school because I pretty much liked everything apart from French and Physical Education which I disliked with a passion ^_^' I'm absolutely hopeless when it comes to foreign languages so studying French was pure torture for me :D I think with regards to the last question, "do you have any siblings?"... I think we may have got our wires crossed a little bit ^_^' siblings is another word for brothers or sisters not children :D I just noticed that your age has changed on Minitokyo so happy belated birthday to you ^_^' when was your birthday by the way? I'm so excited because I just purchased Saiyuki Reload and with any luck it should be with me tomorrow...I'm dying to see it! I hope I get to see a bit more of what they were like in their old lives and what happens to war Prince Nataku... well, take care of yourself and all the best for the rest of this week and no doubt we'll catch up with each other again soon :)

Oh... I thought it's children, hehehe! Well, I have one sister whose a bit younger than me and she's kind of a headache to me, XD! Well, my birthday's on October, I guess you just noticed it now. And you purchased Saiyuki Reload eh? Manga or Anime? If it's anime... I think they didn't mentioned Nataku there, I guess for what I saw.

Take care there and the best of the week to you!

merged: 08-12-2006 ~ 11:22am

Quote by missy1066I suppose I can understand that because I'm sure my big sister felt the same way about me as you do yours when we were around the same age as you two are now :D ... not so much of a headache, more of a pain in the neck if the truth be told! Wow, I can't believe I nearly went for a whole year without noticing that you had celebrated your 18th birthday ^_^' not very observant of me at all is it... (turns a shade of beetroot red because she's so embarrassed about having not noticed this before now)... I shall definitely make sure I remember this time round my friend ;) :) I purchased the anime and it didn't come today :( do they mention him in Gunlock then? Take care of yourself and I'll talk to you again soon no doubt :)

I haven't saw Gunlock as a whole but I think not, too. I guess you'll be seeing it on the manga since the manga's more accurate than the anime.

Hey missy! I feel like I've been neglecting my friendslist because it's been so long since I stopped by! (sorry for that!) How are you doing? Things going well in the UK? Over in the States we've been having a major heatwave... I feel like I'm melting! What've you been up to this summer? Working? Travelling? I've been doing a little bit of vacationing within California and going to the gym a lot. Yes, in this weather I realize I must be crazy. X-P Well, hope that things are going well with you! Take cares! :D

Quote by missy1066Hello Archer, just thought I'd let you know I managed to find that article that I was telling you about earlier that they made of that Japanese newscaster... it took me ages to get back to you on it because I was looking for it in the wrong magazine! Hope you enjoy reading it and no doubt I'll catch up with you again soon so bye for now :)

Thanks for the link Natty! I hope things are going well for you. :D

Quote by missy1066Hello there Akaiken, I hope you're enjoying your summer so far! I haven't talked to you in absolutely ages so I thought I'd just stop by and say hi! As for me, I'm not really getting up to that much I'm afraid ^_^' at the moment the weather here is awfully hot for the UK (around 30°c and higher... a couple of days ago it was even 36° centigrade ^_^' ) have you broken up for the summer yet or are you still studying hard? Well, take care of yourself and I guess I'll catch up with you a bit later on ;) :)

Errr... summer's already ended here for two months now. It's already rainy season here, hehehe! Yeah, been quite a while since I last heard something from you. I'm doing good as of this moment. School's kind of stressing but it's getting fine and I'm getting more and more busy with school. And you know, don't worry much about the heat there cuz we experience that temperature almost everyday here. Well, that's just some new things from me. Bye for now and take care my friend...

Quote by missy1066Good to hear from you Akaiken :) my sister's kids are just breaking up from school this week for summer vacation! I guess it's pretty humid where you are at the moment compared to where I am :) what are your favourite subjects at school and what ones don't you like? What type of sports do you play during the rainy season then? When I was at school we only used to play tennis and do athletics during the summer term if I remember correctly ^_^' I just wondered if schools in your neck of the woods do the same type of thing :) you know I never asked you but do you have any siblings? Full of questions aren't I ^_^' take care and no doubt I'll catch up with you again later on so bye for now ;) :)

First, weather's hot here but these months will be of some exceptions since it's rainy and some storms are coming. My fave subjects at school? Maybe Maths and English will do. And sports? I dunno, I don't play much sports on rainy days.

And the last question... I don't have any siblings. I'm only on college now and besides... I'm just 18! XD

Quote by missy1066Hello again Ayane, it's always nice to hear from you and I'm glad you really enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics in Turin too :) you really like snow a lot don't you :D I think everybody spends more than they want to when it comes to Christmas and the sales that follow etc I really hope your plans for going to the Maldives workout for you... just save save save and you'll have enough money to do it in no time I'm sure ;) :) I don't think you'll find any snow there though :D anyway, I hope you're having a really nice weekend so far and all the best for this coming week... take care of yourself and no doubt I'll catch up with you again sometime soon :) ;)

What's up N, came to say how are ya ? and thanks for the favorite and the comments on my shy girl doujin.

r q g

Hey there Missy! How are you? Phew, I can finally find a minute to write you back. School is finally over, but I had to come back at my mother's home early because of an appointment with the dentist and another with a surgeon (stupid wisdom teeth) :\ , which means I basically have to hide to log onto the internet since I'm the only one of the children of the house who has the right to own a computer and I have my own private internet access (and my dial-up connection is so slow >.<)... Yay for funny (not so much) family situations ^_^'.

I'm not so busy anymore. Actually, I'd say I'm bored because I have nothing to do. ^_^' Even tv is boring these days. So I'm sleeping and reading. I finally was able to start reading The Da Vinci Code, and the movie is already about to come out XD.

Quote by missyWith regards to your interview, have they given you an answer yet? Sounds as if you have some pretty big decisions to make if they do offer you the job... your Japanese teacher seems to of had a wonderful time teasing you guys lately about it all :D

And to answer this question, I've had the answer for a few weeks now, and as it turns out, for now, I don't have much of a decision to make. One of my friends was accepted, another one of my friends got a refusal, as for me, I'm in between. That is, I'm on the waiting list. So they can recontact me till next September to tell me if I'm moving up in their list. The answer made me a bit sad at first, but it's not entirely hopeless. Only thing is, if I find a job in translation and in Canada first, I'll give it priority. So I guess it's : "Let's wait and see" for me lol. Besides, as my mother keeps telling me, I'm not out in the street, I can always come back to my her house for a while, until I find a good job.

Quote by missyAs far as I'm concerned, your mastery of English is pretty impressive if your writing is anything to go by ;) :) and yes, you are right, French is the only language I've tackled ^_^' I'm absolutely hopeless where English grammar is concerned and it's my native tongue so it's no wonder I suppose that I'm absolutely useless where it comes to learning other languages ^_^' do you think German is easier to learn than French?

Why thank you. So, I'm guessing watching television a lot isn't entirely useless (it's mostly how I learned English, my teachers weren't going fast enough for me ^_^'). As for the English grammar, it's really not so bad. A lot less complicated than French grammar, so maybe that's why I'm having an easier time with it ^_^'. As for German, it's hard to say. In some regards, it's easier than French, but in others, it's harder. From what I remember, there were more verb forms then in English, but much less then in French. But the declination system, which does not exist in French, can mix you up sometimes. Though, with a good dictionary, usually it's not that complicated. Then again, since your birth language is English, which has the same roots as the German language, one of the advantages is that a lot of words look or sound similar.

Quote by missyWhen I said people over here sometimes do language degrees, I meant things like a degree in French or German etc basically this is a four-year course as opposed to most courses which are three years in length and the reason for this is because during your third year you are required to spend that entire year abroad I believe... as a student teacher if I remember correctly :) the University will set the whole thing up for them as it's all part of the course...

Hum... I don't think we have those degrees around here, at least, not in the province of Quebec. There are language degrees, but I never heard of a four year one that required a year abroad. I wouldn't know for the rest of Canada, since our education system is completely different from theirs. Though, that sounds interesting, I might have liked doing it for the Japanese language. ^_^'

Anyways, I should probably go now, before someone realizes I'm still logged on after 1 hour when I said I was only checking my messages ^_^'. Hope to hear from you soon, and that you're doing okay, take good care and see ya!

Ayamael

Well I am a lot better than I was last week health wise :) but I am really behind in my workload right now. I missed my deadline this week, so I am a bit over stress. Quote by missy1066Hello again Akaiken, I haven't eaten chocolate in so long that when I had a little piece of Easter egg yesterday I felt quite queasy because it was so sweet ^_^' ...so you may or may not have a job lined up with your friend by the sounds of it... good luck in whatever you decide to do my friend :) what type of job is it if you don't mind me asking? Indoors or outdoors? I bet the weather must be really nice in your part of the world... anyway take care of yourself and no doubt I'll catch up with you again a bit later on...

Quote by missy1066Hello Akaiken, wow, I can't believe you've got over two months worth of vacation over there ^_^' my sister's kids just broke up last week for Easter and they only have two weeks off... well, what did you end up doing/deciding upon with regards to that possible summer job of yours? I'm feeling a lot better thanks after that fall I took ;) my head only hurts a tiny bit now and that's only if you push your finger into the bit I hit :D sorry it's taken so long to get back to you... take care of yourself and I hope you have a really lovely vacation and bye for now :)

Yeah... and Holy Week's coming, too! It's okay if you replied late as long you still replied, hehehe! <<< what the?

Oh well, I still can't decide though if I'll take a summer job or not. And I'm really bored these days!

r q g

Hey Missy! sorry it took me so long to reply... again >.< It seems I'm in an unending whirlwind these days. If it's not homework, it's dinners with friends because it's our last term and we're preparing to say goodbye, and in between, I only think about sleeping ^_^' And to make it worst, I just realized I accidently erased the notification of your message 6 weeks ago, I just noticed it in my gb ^_^' <--- way too distracted for her own good o_O

Sorry again... to answer your latest question about the interview, I'm still waiting for the answer, which should come in this week or the next... I think they were sent from Japan last Saturday, so I'm guessing it won't be too long now and everyone keeps asking me about it ^_^' Now the only question is, am I ready to receive this response? I must admit I am a bit scared right now. And if the letter says that I got it, I'll be good for a huge headache: I'll have to decide whether I'm going to Japan or not, I might lose an opportunity for an awesome and permanent job (and one of the best paid in translation) here in Canada if I do... Gosh, everything scares me these days >.<

Now I'll answer your 6 week old post. I am soooo late... You can slap me back to reality for that one >.<

Quote by missy1066with regards to your interview, I shall definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for you... sounds as if you got on rather well with those judges :)

Really late, but thanks ^^ I appreciate it. And yeah, if don't take me, at least I know they didn't completely hate me ^^ Actually, my Japanese teacher was a judge. She couldn't interview me, for an obvious reason, but they still asked her what she thought, (at least 3 of her students were applying), so she knows exactly who got in or not, but she can't tell us... which doesn't stop her from teasing us about it ^_^'

Quote by missy1066As for Kyo, I think he's absolutely to die for ;) Everything about him is just so scrummy :D as far as I'm concerned he beats the other one hands down :D

Lol, that goes without saying... Yay Kyo! *cheers*

Quote by missy1066 I wish you all the best with your studies and I'm really impressed with what you're doing :) you're very talented indeed to be able to use/and think in more than one language :D

Thank you ^^ and yeah, I always found learning other languages easy, but only up to a certain point... the problem with languages is that, there are always exceptions and particularities to it that only native speakers can grasp. When I get to that point, I always feel a bit discouraged and don't believe I can go any further in my learning ^_^'... the English language is the only exception because, unlike German, Spanish or Japanese, we get all sorts of opportunities to get in contact with it, whether through TV or by talking to people, buying books which aren't too impossible to find in librairies... But my English still isn't perfect after all those years of learning and using it... I guess this explains why we are usually asked to translate into our mother tongue...

Quote: I think learning another language has to be one of the most hardest things that we can ever do when we're at school ^_^' I had absolutely no trouble whatsoever with any of my academic studies apart from French when I was at school... I'm completely hopeless with other languages I'm afraid ^_^'

And my question here is: Is French the only language you tackled? Because if you did, then I can understand why you found languages so hard XD... If French wasn't my first language, I certainly would not have been able to learn it... soooo complicated ^_^' Honestly, I never understood why some English speakers (in a thread on MT for example) believe English is difficult to learn, when it's really not... sure there are exceptions and weird pronounciations that don't always make sense, but once you've known French grammar and ortograph, thrust me, English is a piece of cake ^_^' <-- ok, maybe not for everyone, but that's what I thought while learning it lol

Quote by missy1066it sounds as if you're extremely good at what you do otherwise you'd never have got an internship to do such complex work...As for me, I was doing a teaching degree at Uni but due to ill-health I was unable to complete it...

hum... either that or a lot of people did not apply for the internship ^_^' actually, the translation group here is really tiny, we're about 40 to graduate this year, so it's really not much ^_^' And a teaching degree? that would have been interesting... too bad you couldn't finish it >.<

Quote: unfortunately, my health went downhill from there so there is very little that I can do any more now... I have primary progressive multiple sclerosis and I've had it for a little over 10 years at least ^_^' apart from reading a great deal and going on my computer for a few hours in the evening, I exercise for a few hours in the afternoon and that's basically what I do each and every day come rain or shine :D :) ;)

Now this is the part that touched me in your post, and to which I don't know what to answer... One of my mother's friends has multiple sclerosis actually, so I was really sad to hear you had a similar disease... >.<

Quote: I've heard of people taking language degrees but I've never heard of a translation one ^_^' is there a difference between them and if so, could you please tell me what it is do you think ^_^'

hum... language degree? I've never heard of those, at least not here in Quebec... there's the linguistics degree, which is not exactly about languages themselves, it's about the way a language works, patterns, word evolution, constitution, prononciation patterns in different languages, etc... only thing we have here is language attestation... that is, you can study a second language to the max, its litterature, its evolution etc, and get a diploma (sometimes a degree) for it, but there's not much job opportunity unless you're planning on doing a doctoral degree in it and teach in university ^_^' or if you do another degree (linguistics or translation for example), especially useful when you want to specialize yourself in another field than the vast majority... XD

Lol, thank you <-- very late. Take care too and see you!

PS: I know, I wrote a novel o_O and I should be writing an 8-page essay, too bad I'm not as inspired for it, otherwise I'd be done much faster ^_^' ... XD see ya!
