Thanks for the post about Religion. Personally I think you haven't answered the question though. But you did touch upon something I had on my mind for a long time-destiny. Does man have the power over destiny. You have, however expressed a way of thinking that I consider wrong. To me destiny can be said to be something that man may never know whether it exist or not, God (if he exist) never really gave us destiny-Is there any where on the bible that says god gave man destiny. So we have to work hard in creating our own destiny although we can never be sure what it is. But in order to live our life without regret, we must do that.
But you are one interesting person on what you said about sin. So let's be friend.

Quote by shoujoboyI salute you for saying what I would just be too lazy to type out myself. Man oh man religion, or the people that call themselves religious, just make me mad nowadays.

Thanks, I was happy to write it. =P

True, one of the appeals of anime is that not many people like it. Do you think anime will stay in american cultrue or do you think it will fade out? I appriciate the responses you've given me, i try to get multiple opinions.

Though just today someone said to me "what are you reading manga porn". i ignore stuff like that i ralize there is hentai and some anime is for kids but to make genralizations still is a little annoying.

Quote by shoujoboyI'm one of the few who actually believes that the Simpsons hasn't gone down hill. I hear all the time that the Simpsons just aren't funny anymore and I tend to disagree. The humor has gotten a bit more edgy to keep up with the times, thats the only difference. A Simpsons movie could be pretty damn funny, you just have to wonder what they can do with 90+ minutes to make it any good.

Thank for your input on "The Simpson Moive?" I agree with you it hasn't not gone down hill. I was think exactly what the movie going to be about. ^___^

Hey shoujoboy i wanted to say thanks for participating in my thread about anime acceptance! So do you really think it will never be accepted? i think that way most of the time because people don't like new or " different" things.

Ps. Keep posting and a reply would be welcomed thanks.

Quote by shoujoboyI've been fighting the battle to have a revamp in the review system behind the scenes for a while now. I too think that within the confines of the review criteria, it does sometimes create an unjust overall grade. You could have something like this that fails at what makes an anime good, but it looks good in the animation department score better than it should. Or you could have something like Utena (purely opinion of course) score low because the animation is bad.

I've been wanting to add another category to it all, something to the likes of 'tilt'. This portion of the review would have no impact on the overall review in the other 4 categories, but it will instead show as a seperate score. So now you will show something like a 4 based on the existing 4 categories, and a tilt of say a 9, which shows that beyond what it looked or sounded like, you still found it to be one hell of a ride.

Just take some time to think up ways to improve the review system, and let's see what we can do eh?

Granted, but I still think it would be best for the reviewer to be able to choose the overall rating him/herself, with a short paragraph added for the purpose of an explanation of the rating. That way, we can even look at a reviewer's preference for art/sounds versus content, which would be another insight into the reviewer him/herself, and certainly a benefit to the reader.

I most certainly couldn't turn down the invite to the group, but it seems your group has rejected me. In your minimum requirements you have "minimum of two gallery items submitted" as one of your prerequisites. Well beings that A. I don't have a scanner for scans, B. I have no artistic ability for drawings or wallpapers, or C. I don't even have personal internet access (stationed overseas with military, only common computers) thats somewhat difficult. Sorry but that little bit makes it impossible for me at the current time.

i'll changed that for you. just make sure that u r joining.
dont worry about that
i will never rejected you.

Quote by shoujoboyMaybe I'm blowing this out of proportion but it is getting to the point of insanity... christiansanity. I just have this sick feeling in my stomach that one day there will be a 'jihad' on Americans by Americans who want you to believe what they do.

Well, not to scare you, but I'm christian, And I'll never do such a thing. And if I do, plz Beat the snot out of me.

Quote by shoujoboyGundam SeeD reviews aplenty on this site. The one thing I have to say as a reviewer myself, is that it is sometimes more advantagious to review something as if it is the first anime you've ever seen. Saying its a "been there done that" kind of anime may be true to you, but to someone new to the anime world it could be an excellent first time experience. I know that is hard if you have a lot experience under your belt (I've said the same thing about harem animes) but it does help the general reader descipher exactly what your review means to them. You got your point across well, but that's just a slight recommendation.

Well, I do agree with you, but I've used that line simply to point out the obvious lack of originality in the series. I'll try to keep your suggestion in mind for future reference. Thanks!

Quote by shoujoboyI saw a trailer for it a few months ago. Hopefully the link still works http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/media/player.php?id=2288 I think the trailer is absolutely awful and thats bad because I love DOA games. Here's to hoping I'm wrong... which just so you know, I'm never wrong.

Thanks for the link. ^^ You're right, the teaser was awful. But, teasers have been known to be worse than the actual movies.. Let's just hope the real movie's better than the trailer..

Quote by shoujoboyI grew up in a Southern Baptist upbringing, but I was also told to find my beliefs myself. I have ended up being Agnostic. For those that don't know what that means its simply that I don't believe in anything that can't be proven. If you can prove to me that there is a God, then I will believe it, but until then I will seek out the truth. My reason behind this is that I was kind of tired of not being able to live the way I want to and be proud of myself and I was tired of being told that feeling good was bad.

How many times do I hear someone after a hard time say "I was able to do it because of God?" My thing is what about me? Wasn't I the one that got through the hard times? Wasn't it me who studied for that test and passed it? It wasn't God taking that test for me, it was me... I did it. I think many believe this is because it is hard to believe that humans may just be the most powerful being. We have bombs that could end civilization as we know it, and knowing that scares the hell out of a lot of us. But if we believe that there is someone more powerful, it takes the pressure off of our shoulders. God gave me the strength to do it, and since he did it makes sense.

Also I tend to believe that many just want to believe so that death has a justification. If there is heaven after death, then there is no need to fear it. Being able to tell a child that their grandmother has gone to a better place is easier than telling them she is in the ground. As of right now I believe once you are dead, its simply game over. Dirt nap-o-rama... nothing more.

And thats my two cents. Commence the rock throwing.

Sounds like a premature conclusion for an agnostic, cause I'm one as well. But I see your argument, nonetheless, it's one of doubt and frustration over the years of searching for truth(s). Look at me talk, like I know something ^_^
