all...as soon as my computer at home works, I will be able to catch up on the
ones I am missing! I felt pretty proud of myself when I sifted through the 200
odd notifications I had after I hadn't been back on MT in a year, of which about
70% of them were quarantined (makes life a little easier).

well, i can see myself liking it for the obvious facts.
but here is my take, it is a wonderful piece of deeply carved out characters, i
like Chikane a lot, her contrast to the stupid indecisive Himeko gave me a sense
of enjoyment whenever i look at her role.
The twist and turn of events, although predictable is very enticing. It prompts
the characters to move on.
The pros also goes to the enemies, when u look at their sad pasts, u see an
image of yourself in a sense, kinda like the cruel world from which we live in,
reality hurts.
It sorts of put into focus how society denies us of freedom.
Now the cons are:
the mechas, it was a waste, should have made something else, at least must be
spritiual, maybe a demon or whatever, mechas do not match the story at all.
There is no logic, no following, perfect bull if i ever seen one.
Fights are plain and boring, supplemental, wasted.
The ending was a bit sad, but i am not overly impressed. Other than that, I must
say it is a good story and good anime.

Actually I've begun to watch it cause I've read someone in a forum writting it
was the worst anime he has seen (that season). Well it wasn't that bad, but I
can't say I haad really high expectations of it ^_^ . The whole plot sounds
nice, especially the end... even if I've thougth so the boy do all the hard work
and the other girl receive the prize. The baddies don't feel very developped,
even if they have a sad backstory, it's still feel really rushed. So actually
the relationships between the main characters seem really more
important.
Yes, using mechas doesn't seem to make sense, it seems it was just more
eye-catching to use mechas than kind of monsters (living or more magical
things). The use of mechas was really more clever in Gankutsuo (I think it was
one of the most brilliant thing in it, that aloowed in a way a really violent
and heart-breaking scene ) or in Samurai 7.
What I like the more in this anime is the artwork, beautiful, really colorful
and pleasant.
