I was confused too about what vectoring is when I first got into walling. Vectoring is when you take an ::usually:: anime image that's a little ::thinks:: dirty(?) [a small image that would get blurry if you enlarge it, a magazine scan with text printed over the characters, a scan that's got creases, etc] and you trace it in a graphics program to create a clean/enlarged image. The program is just a tool: the waller does the work. It's also sometimes called tracing ::more straighforward, no?::
