You know how I just said that I wanted to start a group? Well, I want to start a
general music group. Ya see, the problem that I noticed in the category for
music-based groups, is that they are way too specialized. It's either a group
for one specific band/permormer, or a group for a single genre (I notced three;
rock, j-pop, j-rock). My group will be for music in general. Anyone who likes
music could join. We'd have discussions on various genres and bands. I'd even
have a weekly column set aside for a band recomendatio by me, which would
include a bio and history of the band, as well as a few song recomendations. I
even have a couple contests planned out for once enough wallpaper/vector artists
join. I just need to find the time to create a layout for it, as well as all of
the content I'd need.

I love animals. At several points in my life, I wanted to work in an animal
related field, lol. And I have one pet. A little Peach-faced Lovebird. But he's
more like family than a pet. We kinda treat him like a person. He's rarely in
his cage. He's usually hanging out with anyone he perches on. He also eats
people food. Nothing junky though. Only fruits and veggies, and sometimes to
pretzels are crackers.... and cereal.... and oatmeal....
Oh, and are you into music? I'm gonna be starting an art/music group. It's main
theme is: How music inspires our art, and fuels our creativity. I've asked
Sakura-Dust and Erdbeermilch if they want to be moderators. SD already accepted
that offer as the gallery mod, and I'm hoping Erdbeermilch will agree as well.
If she does, then I need one more moderator! Would you be interested? I'm
designing the skin now, so the group won't be up until I finish that..... and

Sure, I'll be happy to help I've
had at least 15 walls and vectors made as song illustrations! It's a great idea
for a group, better than focusing on a certain genre of music (I've noticed that
type of group tends to die fast). I don't know if it's a good idea to design a
skin now, the new layout's gonna be up in mid July and the group layout won't
work anymore. But it's still a month until then so I guess it wouldn't be a
problem If you need codes or anything you can rely on me!

About the group; I'd like to help out where I can, the concept sound really
appealing. I don't think I'm a real genius when it comes to music nor do I know
a load of bands, but my taste is indeed quite versatile so maybe I could be of
some use. In fact the only real music related wallpaper I made so far is
inspired by anime music, though it's for Cowboy Bebop (so it's not that average
J-pop/-rock stuff).

Of the movies you've listed, I've only heard of The Birds. Mainly because my mom saw it as a kid and it scared

Agreed, I saw The Birds when I was small
too (kindergarten, maybe?) but I didn't see all of it, just until the part with
the guy without the eyes. That scared me too and I desperately wanted to see the
rest of it but they wouldn't air it
In the end I did watch it but it didn't scare me as much as the first time.
The film that really got me was Night Of The
Living Dead (1991 zombie film remake). Of course, I was much younger than
the age restriction pointed out (7 or 8 I think, the restriction was 14) and it
scared me so much that I couldn't sleep with the lights off for a month I
can't say I'm squeamish when I watch zombie films but I find them a bit more
disturbing than the rest!

I love music, can't spend a day without listening it.
I listen various genres. From heavy metal to house. I enjoy songs that have a
vibrant rhythm, you know, one that makes you wanna move. I really like Prodigy
<3 and the GazettE (j-rock band). As for the rest, I listen songs from
Madonna - 4 minutes to Silverstein - Wrapped up in Blood. (huge contrast, I
know).
I also have a thing for the soundtrack from Black & White (the strategy
game) and F.E.A.R (best game ever, can't get over it).

I'm glad so many people recognize the movie I picked (several people on
Animepaper said they immediately thought about it), so I guess I didn't fall too
far from the mark. I've been vectoring for almost a year now, and I really
sucked at the beginning, but you get the hang of it. I luuuuv textures so I
generally use at least one it every vector, and that helps since I get kind of
bored with straight vectors that only retrace the scan entirely

My god you've got pretty much every console that's up to date, I only have my
PS2 and it's already outdated. I actually don't think I'll ever get enough money
to buy myself a concole, the old ones where often presents I and my brother got
for christmas from our father, but since contact with him as pretty much ceased
over the last two years or so we don't get presents anymore (even if we were in
contact I don't think we'd get anything ).
Your games list seems longer than mine and I noticed that your list is also a lot more versatile than mine. I pretty
much only play RPGs and watch my brother play through stuff like MGS. He once
forced me to play one of his first person shooters and I totally sucked at that,
so it's no loss I guess.
I also noticed you had Chrono Cross in your list, I really liked that game, but
due to some CD error or whatever I could never get to disc 2.

The picture I vectored isn't a 3d render (I would have died if I attempted that
now ), but the one I used had such faint colors on the faces it was pretty crazy
trying to shade them anyways

Now there's more films for my list. The only ones I've heard of are The Village and Misery (seen it once on TCM, a channel for old films), it's well
done! I've also read the book a couple of times (big fan of Stephen King!) and
most of the films made from his books don't do them justice, but Misery was
quite good (I watched it at night and couldn't help looking at the door from
time to time )
I've seen The Shining...3 times? I was
surprised to see how many things were changed from the book, like the ending -I
preferred the ending from the book because it tied up all the loose strings, the
one from the film was open: we don't know what happened to Wendy and Danny, the
hotel remained the way it was before etc. You should read the book if you
haven't, the concept of "shine" is explained more than in the film!
And I agree, that scene is basically the "cover" of the film, it's
even on the cover of the novel I have
As for others, I'd mention
- Pink Floyd: The Wall: not quite a
thriller but still weird and the music is <3
- The Doors: the strangest film I've
ever seen, and I've seen a lot
- The Others: psychological thriller,
creepy atmosphere and a nice twist in the end!
- The Triangle (2005): messes with your
mind a lot; it's long but it's worth it!
- A Clockwork Orange: it's sinister at
some parts, the book is also good.
- The Birds: OK, people might hate me
for this, but I don't like how Hitchcock made it. The actors are annoying and
the ending is disappointing. You should read the book, it's much better, but I
guess it's personal opinion

useless, etc) and then made his role so that his only purpose is to be taken
down by the player. But seriously I think your explanation would go better with
the game than mine.

Ah I still remember my first console fondly, it was the
Sega Meag Drive and my first video game ever was "The Lion King" for
that console (my brother got Batman, lol). My favourite games for that console
are Soleil and Landstalker. Next we got a SNSE for which my favourite games are
Illusion of Time (Illusion of Gaia in America I think) and Yoshi's Island 2.
Now the giant leap to PS1 and 2 on those I like RPGs the most like Suikoden
(1+2, 4 sucks big time), Final Fantasy series(my favourite is 9), Final Fantasy
Tactics, Breath of Fire series and Grandia (1+2). I also like more action
oriented (not that much action actually ) games for example Vagrant Story (best game ever) and Project Zero series
(Fatal Frame in America). When I was a little (=a lot) younger I also liked to
play some Beat'em-ups like Tekken or Soul Blade.
So what do you like to play? Is your list completely diferent from mine?

would work wonders with anything from Akira. Zombie Strippers you can find
awesome scans for this poster in the DOGS gallery. You can find everyone in the
poster, including the old man who smokes. The design is also very good and a bit
funky, as you like them (personal fav) Bet Your Life You can make a
Code Geass one using this scan or this one. It also fits with
the character. Saawariya Indian movie, but if
you're in a pinch, you can find a lovely couple everywhere and fit it into a
green bg. lookie, erase
the blood and voila X3
I'll look for more if these aren't enough. But it's quite difficult. Also sorry

I thought 6 months was the time that FOXDIE would kill him and 3 months was when

Where I live you don't have to have a license to get called
for jury duty
I wouldn't mind jury duty so much, but here they expect you to spend your entire
day at it and they don't even pay you enough to cover the money you have to
spend for parking. So basically it really hurts if you're working, which is when
I got called. I lost an entire days worth of work and came out still having to
pay out of pocket.
I'm actually about 75% done with my wallpaper... It didn't take me nearly as
long as I thought it would to vector the scan. Maybe I should make you guess
what it's about I will

I've

About the group; I'd like to help out where I can, the concept sound really appealing. I don't think I'm a real genius when it comes to music nor do I know a load of bands, but my taste is indeed quite versatile so maybe I could be of some use.
In fact the only real music related wallpaper I made so far is
inspired by anime music, though it's for Cowboy Bebop (so it's not that average
J-pop/-rock stuff).
Sounds great, but I'd probably be careful when it comes to posting samples because the music industrie is in fact quite evil when it comes to such things.

The film that really got me was Night Of The Living Dead (1991 zombie film remake). Of course, I was much younger than the age restriction pointed out (7 or 8 I think, the restriction was 14) and it scared me so much that I couldn't sleep with the lights off for a month

I love music, can't spend a day without listening it.
I listen various genres. From heavy metal to house. I enjoy songs that have a vibrant rhythm, you know, one that makes you wanna move. I really like Prodigy <3 and the GazettE (j-rock band). As for the rest, I listen songs from Madonna - 4 minutes to Silverstein - Wrapped up in Blood. (huge contrast, I know).
I also have a thing for the soundtrack from Black & White (the strategy game) and F.E.A.R (best game ever, can't get over it).

I'm glad so many people recognize the movie I picked (several people on Animepaper said they immediately thought about it), so I guess I didn't fall too far from the mark. I've been vectoring for almost a year now, and I really sucked at the beginning, but you get the hang of it. I luuuuv textures so I generally use at least one it every vector, and that helps since I get kind of bored with straight vectors that only retrace the scan entirely

My god you've got pretty much every console that's up to date, I only have my PS2 and it's already outdated. I actually don't think I'll ever get enough money to buy myself a concole, the old ones where often presents I and my brother got for christmas from our father, but since contact with him as pretty much ceased over the last two years or so we don't get presents anymore (even if we were in contact I don't think we'd get anything

Well I think everyone has his hobbies, right? So some people spend their money on games and consoles and others by miniature cars, stamps or whatever. I once calculated that I spend over 1000 Euro on manga.

I think you're talking about "The Host" (sounds similar to it)? It's like a giant mutated fish that came from the River. That movie didn't exactly scare me, but I have a hard time watching people being eaten so it was weird for me to sit through that

Now there's more films for my list. The only ones I've heard of are The Village and Misery (seen it once on TCM, a channel for old films), it's well done! I've also read the book a couple of times (big fan of Stephen King!) and most of the films made from his books don't do them justice, but Misery was quite good (I watched it at night and couldn't help looking at the door from time to time
)
I've seen The Shining...3 times? I was surprised to see how many things were changed from the book, like the ending -I preferred the ending from the book because it tied up all the loose strings, the one from the film was open: we don't know what happened to Wendy and Danny, the hotel remained the way it was before etc. You should read the book if you haven't, the concept of "shine" is explained more than in the film!
And I agree, that scene is basically the "cover" of the film, it's
even on the cover of the novel I have 
As for others, I'd mention
- Pink Floyd: The Wall: not quite a thriller but still weird and the music is <3
- The Doors: the strangest film I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot
- The Others: psychological thriller, creepy atmosphere and a nice twist in the end!
- The Triangle (2005): messes with your mind a lot; it's long but it's worth it!
- A Clockwork Orange: it's sinister at some parts, the book is also good.
- The Birds: OK, people might hate me for this, but I don't like how Hitchcock made it. The actors are annoying and the ending is disappointing. You should read the book, it's much better, but I guess it's personal opinion

I always thought Kojima made that character because some players were really annoyed that they had to play as Jack for the most part of MGS2. Because Kojima is such a cool dude and always in for a good laugh he created this twisted character for MGS3 that seems to sport all the weird characteristics people atributed Raiden with (looks too girly=is gay, is useless, etc) and then made his role so that his only purpose is to be taken down by the player. But seriously I think your explanation would go better with the game than mine.
Ah I still remember my first console fondly, it was the Sega Meag Drive and my first video game ever was "The Lion King" for that console (my brother got Batman, lol). My favourite games for that console are Soleil and Landstalker. Next we got a SNSE for which my favourite games are Illusion of Time (Illusion of Gaia in America I think) and Yoshi's Island 2.

Saawariya Indian movie, but if you're in a pinch, you can find a lovely couple everywhere and fit it into a green bg. lookie, erase the blood and voila X3

About Snake's future I looked it up on the metal gear wiki, so the new Foxdie (he got from Drebin) is going to mutate too but it's assumed that Snake will die before that. Wether it's due too the old Foxdie or the accelerated aging I don't know.
I kind of thought that scene at the end was quite heart warming, especially because I thought the thing with Cambell and Rose was for real. My reaction was a little close to Snake's, "WTF Colonel?". I also liked that they turned Jack into a total badass for MGS4, after he had to endure so much in 2, and was a laughing stock in 3. Go Raiden!
At first I wondered why he wasn't affected by that SOP stuff. First I thought it had something to do with his diarreha (lol) then I thought he was too though to be affected by his locked up emotions, homrmones (whatever) but I really had to laugh when he told Meryl he didn't have any nanos and everything made perfect sense from then on

think about it that makes him probably the coolest character in the whole series

Nothing like a good ghost movie to liven things up! I couldn't agree more, horror/psychological thrillers are the best. I'd choose Silence of the Lambs over Prince of Darkness anytime. Though I do love a line someone over at the IMDb boards once said about the main character in Prince of Darkness: "evil Satan juice canister"

I was actually thinking about downloading Prom Night and watching it just for the laughs -as you can see on IMDb, it fails as a horror film (and from the plot outline, it reminds me a LOT of Carrie). I don't know if it's worth wasting 1+ hour of my life on it, though

Yep, Code Geass is a fav magnet, but I have to say the anime is really good. The art is lovely, has detailed backgrounds and the deep emotions are very well designed, not to mention the plot is addicting.
