Quote by MapleRoseBut I watched this
after the Anime Spotlight on the Maigetsu was written and published. Actually I
more or less decided to watch this after brom wrote that article to see for
myself what this series was like (though I guess I've heard about this series
for a while and have been wanting to check it out for a
while)
Sure, I'll believe you... this time.
Quote: I have a writing style? O__o
Hey
don't just yell at me, what about those other people who never write?
>__<
Yes, you do have a writing style. You are a just the facts type writer. Jak
likes throwing things into the mix like his "Racist Rating" and I am a
facts type reviewer myself, just with the aforementioned sad attempts at humor.
And yes I will yell at you, I expect more of you. Actually it's probably because
out of our inactive reviewers, you still actually post occasional messages in
the guestbook. The others never grab my attention, you do simply for line of
sight.
Quote: Nah I'm not worried, not
like you know my real name to be able to enter it into that website anyway
=P
The internet is a wonderous thing. If I put in about 10 minutes of effort, I
could probably find your real name. Besides, theres more than one website out
there that acesses the whole Jigoku Shoujo thing. All I need is a screename and
some peanut butter M&M's when she arrives. Too bad I get sent to a place far
worse than hell... Canada! Yup, I went there again and just because I know you,
I'll always go for the Canada jokes.
Quote by MapleRoselol, she's cute ^^ I
like her pose, looks as if she's playing around with her staff. nice colouring,
I like the coloured lines, did you use pen tool or brush?
Pen; my hand's not quite that stedy yet :P Plus, I kind of missed it ^^
Thank for taking the time to comment :*
You've submitted 2 wallpapers that have no signature on them nor any
description, therefore, I'm not convinced that you made them. You've been here
for a while now, so you should've read the Policy and have known that
you're not allowed to submit wallpapers you did not make.
Therefore, this is your First warning.
Any more ripping will get you restricted.
However, if you did indeed make those 2 wallpapers, then contact me with some
evidence.
Because I was who made the walls, but I do not have the habit of putting
something that identifies (I always bother with it). I have not read the rules
or whatever, but I really did not know that there was this (not very often I get
to the page)
dios, mi inglés es pésimo así que, sorry for my bad english

hace tiempo no me metía a la pagina o_oU)
Quote by MapleRoselol, I thought your
previous doujins were vectors 'cause your lineart is so neat I can never
make neat lineart
She looks more mature in your version I think I like the
colouring on her clothing, the little details are nice, though I think her skin
could use more shading to match the amount of shading on her clothes.
Just curious, how come you don't use Photoshop for lines or opencanvas for
colouring?
I've always found that Open Canvas just is easier when it comes to creating
smooth, clean lines. When I attempt line art in photoshop, I usually get lines
that are too blurry or too sharp. Open Canvas, I guess, just produces lineart
that I'm satisfied with xD As for my coloring, I first learned how to color in
photoshop so I've just stuck with it. Although, I do love experimenting a lot,
where I will occasionally use Open Canvas or painter. But not a lot of those
works are submitted; they're just sketches xD
Quote by MapleRoseawesome picture ^^ I
like the pose and the expression on their faces, it fits the mood really well.
Lovely use of watercolours, esp the details in the background
^__^
Quote by MapleRosenice vectoring and
painting, however, I think there are a few things you can improve on (or keep in
mind in the future if you want to do something similar):
- The vector of Belldandy looks blurred, but the frame behind her is sharp. It
should be the other way around, since she's in the foreground and the focus, and
the frame is the background and behind her.
- The lilies, although well-painted, don't match the colour scheme of the rest
of the wall, esp the greens and reds. You've got browns and blues and golds to
work with, and thus the background should fit those colours, esp since nouveau
walls tend to have limited colour schemes. The lily petals are also too
bright/white, you can't tell the shading too well, and it lets the greens and
reds of the centers stand out even more. Try doing a colour or saturation
adjustment.
- Did you vector the frame designs from the Mucha scan, or did you design it
yourself? I think it could be modified to make it with softer rounder edges to
match the gentle mood of Belldandy and the lilies.
- The text looks out of place. Either remove it altogether, or incorporate it
into the design. If you want it simply as the titile of the piece and thus part
of the signature, then make it smaller and actually put it as part of the
signature. Right now, it's somewhere in between being part of the design and
part of the signature, so it looks kinda slapped-on, almost as an afterthought.
thanks
-i made it blurry on purpose, though i agree there are some jaggy parts of the
frame
-limited colour scheme is not for me, plus lilies were chosen by me to fit the other colours, freens and reds look
cool to me, i love bright spots like those
you depend on rules too much i guess....
u said nouveau walls, but i didnt try to imitate someone's wall [i kinda had a
candy-chan wall as an inspiration for the frame, but not for the rest], i made
my own, so i dont care much about how other walls are, its mine
-yes, i vectored mucha's frame, and im too lazy to edit stuffs for me
-text is just a tag, not a part of the compostition [text is never a part of
compostition for me, text is text, dont try to put ALL what u can into the
composition]

shoulder angle may be a bit too high

xD thanks for the tip, but mmm the manga scan was like this lol
Quote: awesome clover frame ^^ and
I love the colours. Yay for widescreen version! I actually like the extra design
in the bottom corner of the wide-screen version, too bad you can't really fit it
into the 1600x1200 version...
Thanks a lot for your nice comment and the fav.
All the extra designs are merely there for the purpose of filling up space . That's
really the good thing with art nouveau you can easily fill up some more space
with more designs.
lol, I thought I was supposed to highlight the Totoro one and you were going to highlight Yina's? Changed your mind eh?
You're welcome
I am looking forward to another nice review from you:) Good Luck.
Thank you so much Maple-san ^_^

:D Thanks!
It works alright as a blender, but it's not as good as the blender marker or just working while the ink is wet. It's great for effects, though.
Pen; my hand's not quite that stedy yet :P Plus, I kind of missed it ^^

yay, thanks for the comment! I used the "spoon pen tool" on Open Canvas ^_^
