I don't know if it's just me, but the background seems abit smudgy, especially the land near the sea. The woods look slightly softer compared to the character, so they just do not blend perfectly. I'd say have the characters with soft shading/painting, or simply make the wood a tad sharper. Other parts like the bushes and the sky look definately wonderful. Keep up the great work! =)

Yeah, my painting always ends up pretty smudgy. I'll keep trying to work on that, but I'm not good at painting at all so I don't know if I'll improve But thanks for your helpful suggestions

thanks. i am a bit obsessed with vectoring (understatement? :'D). doing hei's hair that way wasn't actually too bad. i've tested my own patience more in other works. for example: the leaves here and the hair (kinda hard to see) here. x]

Hello.
I do have a problem with textures. I keep on overusing the same textures because I can't find other good ones. All the textures I find are too colorful and no matter what blending effect I'd use, they still look bad, or they look good only for certain part of the wallpaper. So I don't know what to do *sob*
Eyes are my weakness. I read a few tutorials but the eyes I make still look funny, in a bad way so bear with me until I get used to them.

Heh, neither. I only vectored the scan extension and the place where logo was then painted it over to make the colours match, since the scan isn't perfectly clean. I like scans like that, can't be bothered to vector stuff .

Yeah, I decided to try the cutout effect on a whim, and it worked out pretty well. It's an interesting look. ^_^
The perspective was nicer in the mock-up, and if I wasn't so lazy [ ] I'd completely rework this wall and try and get it perfect, since I really like it.

Yeah, I know about the jagged lines... Perhaps I'll redo the work someday (don't think so - I don't like the scan... )
